2017-07-15 at 7:53 AM UTC in The Retarded Thread: Click Here for AIDSfor anyone interested, i discovered a mod pack that accomplishes literally everything mentioned i in my earlier post. all of the mods in it are among the highest rated and most popular of all stalker soc mods of all time, so its definitely of the utmost quality. i was already using zrp and owr3, the other stuff covers pretty much all other aspects the game is lacking in. gonna go ahead and grt the other stuff i didnt have before i start over.

shadow of chernobyl. using ZRP, OWR3 for SoC, and the ZRP compatibility patch for OWR3. might try and add a few others before i begin my new game. im shooting for fixes for fov, exoskeleton sprinting, weapon additions (maybe), npc retextures, and possibly more depending on if i can find quality mods that are compatible with ZRP
get zrp above all else though for soc. that alone does ALOT in the way of improving your experience

I HAVE FIXED THE GAME YIPPEEEEEEE
cant wait to start a new playthrough so i can bask in the glory of an unfucked bydiogaem experience... im happy as fug! no more crashing to desktop, no more dogshit models and animations, no more dropping my guns when they lose alot of durability, no more of the ebin "shoot a nigger who is standing still in the head while low-crouched 4 times and only 1 bullet hits" because (((hit probability)))!
HECK im glad i got this figured out lads. too bad im at the brain scorcher mission and have damn near the best gear, artifacts, and weapons, but it'll all be worth it when i get another 50+ hours of playtime in an upgraded version of the game

im on the last leg of the shadow of chernobyl campaign and yeah, its a good game once you download enough mods for it to even be playable. was at a point before i downloaded ZRP where the game would crash within minutes of launch, aside from the setting changes/new game crashes because of the fsgame.ltx file. i still get random crashes but they are spaced pretty far apart. that isnt as good as it sounds but after a few times of my game crashing after significant progress i learned how important saving often is. good thing i learned early on about the saving thing, i end up quickloading to get out of whirligig anomalies more than anything else now, lol...
just the crashes out of the equation would make this game way better overall, and if the bugs were fixed it would only bump it up even more. would love to see it get the metro 2033 treatment and have a remake with non-2007 graphics, along with fixing many of the other common complaints like gear repair, AI, and attachment incompatibility. from what ive read, call of pripyat is overall much better in that department.
i have SoC and clear sky on my steam library but its looking like im gonna pick up CoP once im done with those. the whole game is very reminiscent of metro in both atmosphere and experience, and i loved those games which probably explains my current love for stalker. definitely is one of the best games ive ever played, its been a fat ass minute since ive been immersed in a single player game like this. -

theyre interesting little vermin... roaches do a thing called "traumatic insemination" where they poke a hole in the abdomen of the female with their ovipositor and lay the eggs in her like that, so basically stabwound intercourse. also, the reason roaches are so resilient to radiation is because their cells only undergo meosis during their molting cycle, and since cells are only (mostly) vulnerable to radiation during division, they have a pretty sizable window of rad resistance.
