[keratinize my mild-tasting blossoming]
Zanick is one of the few remaining diehard hopeless romantics in this day and age that has been absolutely corrupted by the dry, mechanical, soulless era of Tinder and the like.
And Karen is the object of his affection.
Like recognizes like, and so I see the Zanick-Karen dichotomy as one that is all to familiar to another member of this dying breed.
His appreciation for Karen should be an inspiration to us all.
The magnitude of the flames ignited by these embers of love is more than enough to make Cupid himself blush.
I know because I have experienced such potent flames myself for a lost love.
Godspeed, comrade Zanick.
The vicissitudes of fate have had their say, and it is a tale with a happy ending in sight. It is only a matter of time until Karen is in your company.
It's a love that will withstand a thousand bans.

The asshole feds, Canada and the US, shut down Backpage... My roommate was basically unemployed for weeks. It made me realize how fucked up the government's methods are... Shutting down a hooker ad site is just going to absolutely fuck so many people over.

Roughly 90% of my hallucinogen experiences have been absolute disasters.
But I still feel that people should try it at least once... Even if it's terrifying, it builds character. Just make sure not to keep trying if it expecting a good time if the first few are failures.

There's nothing to support the theory and the theory does not fit the data nor even really make testable predictions, nor answers the Hard Problem.
I mean you can read it if you want, but understand that you're not really receiving any information about reality from it.
And I want to remind you that I am not taking Jaynes' theory as irrefutable gospel. My only reason to even intervene when you and Obbe were discussing it was when I could tell you were dismissing it entirely too flippantly.
Are you SHARK/Captain Falcon/etc? If you are, carry on with that IIT theory. That was actually pretty cutting edge and by far the most empirically testable theory about consciousnesss I've ever seen. But you don't have to dismiss Obbe's (or anyone's, for that matter) contributions to the discussion at hand with such crude insensitivity.
It's not like IIT is without dissenters. It's essentially a very sophisticated house of cards built on a foundation of axioms that are just as speculative as Jaynes' theory.

I referred specifically to Obbe's link, which directly raised issues with the idea that were not been resolved thereafter.
That's called academic honesty. Literally EVERY theory has opponents. Evolution, vaccinations, the list just goes on and on.
If a theory having dissenters is enough to convince you that it's incontrovertibly false, then you better stop believing in evolution, vaccines, a heliocentric universe, etc.
