Physical pleasures are transient and ultimately meaningless.
We might like to pretend that there are ways in which we can create lasting value, like by creating art, or contributing scientific knowledge to our libraries, or even by reproducing.
But it's all self-serving anyhow.
There's no such thing as a legacy.
Why the fuck does anyone do anything? Are we just a bunch of automata striving to create our own legacy?
To what end, though? Does any of that shit matter once the very biological matter we consist of decomposes?
Why carry on this farce? Like, for real, why do the rest of you do it?
I feel like a fool for carrying on without being able to answer what should really be an incredibly simple question.

2020-11-09 at 8:34 AM UTC in Donald Duck orders a Big Mac from McDonaldsOne time, like 15 years ago, I went to a friend's place in downtown Vancouver and we all got drunk and took some ecstacy.
Then one of my friends is like "yo, check this out", and he takes me into the other room, and there's a duck just chilling in the room.
The ecstacy made it all a bit surreal straight from the start.
They said they just found it in a park and took it home with them earlier that day.
The next day, we all took public transit (buses, SkyTrain, all that shit) back out to Surrey with our duck in one of those open top fabric shopping bags.
When we got to my place, all my friends passed out from our day drinking, but the duck wouldn't stop quacking all through the night.
My landlords upstairs called me and asked me if I had a duck in my suite, and told me it was keeping them up.
My friends somehow slept through it all.
I had no choice but to take it outside myself and leave it near a small pond.
The poor thing must have felt confused and lost as fuck.
Moral of the story: ducks are fucking loud. -

Actually, twitch streamers (the ones based on sex appeal while trying to pretend it's not about sex) are even moreso what I was talking about. OnlyFans doesn't always lead to high pressure sales for an ever rising list of demands. Some of the Twitch "stars", though, are notorious for demanding more and more money from their fans/followers.
And this industry is entirely unique.
Porn and prostitution are entirely different.
This shit is literally worse, because it's all about manipulating natural feelings of attraction in socially alienated youths (often on the autism spectrum, or suffering from severe social anxiety and codependency issues).
And as I said before, I've witnessed it first hand in real life.
My friend's step son got taken in it. He was barely out of high school. He was maybe 18, possibly even 17, and he fell hard for this cam girl. He started racking up the family credit cards. I actually witnessed one of their family fights. The mom started unscrewing her son's bedroom door so she could keep an eye on him at all time.
They were out several grand, and they are by no means wealthy, so that's actually a pretty big deal.
The kid is now a problem child who can't be trusted.
The aftermath is so fucking deep that an entire family started falling apart.
Socially alienated and/or mentally ill kids are just ripe for picking clean if a streamer finds such a catch.
I also read online about some other people who descended into absolute poverty chasing that perceived romantic connection.
A skilled flirt can make just about anything feel real.
