Once they have it all, they sort it by algorithm into their various categories and subject matter, and it's all neatly filed and cataloged automatically. Once that's done, they simply run "queries", at their leisure, which creates lists of targets, complete with names, addresses, phone numbers, places of employment, and everything else related to the target. All without even the need for a single warrant. It's not even a question that they already have everything there is to get on you, it's just a matter of if/when they decide to come get you.
You overestimate the intelligence of our intelligence agencies. They’re barely keeping up. -

Originally posted by -SpectraL I changed a blown-out septic sump pump one time that was anchored with bolts to the bottom of the shit/piss reservoir, and because the reservoir was too big to drain just to change the pump, I ended up having to remove the six anchoring bolts and the attached hoses with my arm extended all the way up to my shoulder in shit and piss and used toilet paper and tampons. Then I had to do the same thing once the new pump was re-seated. At the end, my eyes were stinging and all red, and the skin on my arm was actually tingling. The experience also created a mild high, just from breathing the fumes.
[edit] Jenkem is real.
Originally posted by -SpectraL It was a sump pump. I was replacing someone else's. The motor blew out.
There are people with portable vacuum trucks who could have sucked all that shit up for you. I’m surprised you didn’t get sepsis. -

I remember what it was like to be put under for surgery, if I could have that done but die in the process that would be pretty great.
For a healthy person, there seems to be a large jump from being put under to being put down, even though you are brought close to it when you are put under. I still don’t get why there are so many botched lethal injections. -
2019-06-07 at 12:52 AM UTC in My fucking toilet just flooded my apartmentBallcocks are on their way out. They’ve been replaced by other assemblies that are more reliable. In your case, however, not so much.

Originally posted by gadzooks I'm surprised if took this long for someone to ask this question.
There were two things going on…
One: The rubber flange or whatever it's called inside the tank was broken, and so the toilet wouldn't flush on its own. I was forced to keep the lid of the tank off at all times so I could reach in and remove the flange manually everytime I had to flush.
Two: The toiled flooded because… I guess I took a big shit? Or I used too much toilet paper? Dunno for sure
But yeah, it was a result of two unlikely scenarios converging.
Are you talking about the ballcock? -

Originally posted by stl1 Removing the tank top and pulling up on the float or properly seating the flapper so that the tank would fill and actuate the float valve may have also been the quickest, easiest fix. The shut off behind the toilet is more difficult.
People should learn about their home's mechanical operations.
I firmly believe that there should be a required class in high school along the lines of "Things Everyone Should Know" that would include where to find and how to shut off your water/gas/electricity in an emergency, basic plumbing and electrical, basic home maintenance with replacing of HVAC enhancements, cleaning condenser coils and condensate drains, basic retirement planning, budgeting and normal household expenses, checking accounts and how to balance a check book (hey, I found a $50 mistake in the bank's favor once), etc.
There are actual classes out there called Adulting 101. -

Originally posted by gadzooks Holy fuck… Good call.
It was still flowing… I figured there would be some kind of auto-shut-off mechanism…
I guess that valve IS the shut-off mechanism.
This thread is embarrassing. Especially these two admissions. -

How far away from me are you standing? What am I wearing? What are you wearing? Is it the left or right nut? Too many variables.

2019-05-25 at 8:31 PM UTC in Good habits that increase the quality of your lifePay yourself first. Out of every paycheck, put at least 15% of it towards investments and savings. Of course, this is after paying off all your debt (only exception is your mortgage). If you do this, you will have a nice chunk of change when you become unable to work and earn an income.
