If you're still concerned beyond that use a good mold blocking primer like Killz, then paint the floor and walls with a good latex paint. It will stop the block walls and concrete floor from leaking (concrete is porous), and the dehumidifier will help with the stuff the falls down from the upper levels.

I started looking at sub floors to lay down last night.
You are probably right about getting some kilz paint though too.
The paint shows clear signs that moisture is getting in through a window and it may be coming up through the floor.
It is too cold outside to go out and caulk the window up and probably too cold to paint right now too.
Every time I get psyched up about starting on it I realize the weather is horrible to be doing any of this.
The walls need scraped and painted again and the floor might too although most of it looks pretty dry.
I reached out to a flooring installer friend of mine but his only reply was "Do you know any prostitutes I can call?"
I've got a feeling that once I do get it cleaned out so that I can start work I will opt to spend a little more money on something nicer than the absolute cheapest carpet squares I can find. Today we went out to eat breakfast and then took the kid to run around a playground and after that all I remember is sitting down for 1 second to catch my breath and 3 hours later I'm waking up dazed and confused.
Living in 2 places at once is definitely taking extra out of me that I don't need to be losing right now.
She went to church so I took the chance to run back to my apartment to feed my cats and play with them some but I am going back later tonight.
It takes me about 30 minutes to get there.
If I had 1 thing I could be doing right now it would be laying carpet tiles so that my kitty cats could come with me and have their own safe place to get away too and chill with me.
Moving more of my stuff in is completely pointless right now because there is no room for it and I'll just end up moving it again and again until I get something set up livable.
Her place is fine as is and I don't want to fuck it up. All I need is a place to do computer stuff late at night while she is sleeping.
Tomorrow we are going to a museum in the morning and probably a couple other stops but my goal is to get to the store and buy some friggin carpet squares and get fucking started.
I don't know what I'm doing anyways and yes it will probably look like shit but whatever.
I gotta try damn it.

In an effort to not to be defeated I did buy some pre-ground coffee but only because it was SUCH A GOOD DEAL yet it just isn't the same.
Yesterday I even went and got k-cups of some girly shit thinking it was okay because it is fancy but it too tasted like hot piss.
This shit I am drinking now tastes more like a tea than a coffee.

They look easy to put down and are child safe which I guess doesn't matter on account of the kid is just going to eventually slam into the concrete walls and hurt herself that way but at least she could jump around and not get her feet dirty.
I'm not sure how easy these interlocking tiles are to clean though but I do hear you don't have to put down any matting under the floor or do any prep work beyond sweeping.
Also Im not sure how well they will stay in place and I'm not trying to glue anything either.
Other options I've looked into have been vinyl plank like this,
But I'm not really trying to level the floor and I'm sure as fuck not trying to put down plywood first as that immediately makes this project too costly.
I have had good luck and bad luck with self adhesive tiles in the past. Most of the time if used anywhere besides a bathroom they seem to stick pretty decent but the second you piss on them they come up.
I guess there is always the carpet option but Im not a huge fan of that due to stains and animals will just tear it to shit.
Beyond the flooring, the walls are concrete and the most I care to do with them is maybe just hit them with paint and leave them concrete as paneling looks like crap period.
The ceiling I wasn't going to touch as Im more of a functionality guy and having everything exposed just makes my life easier when something needs fixed.
It would be nice if I could find a way to get her washer and dryer down stairs to free her up space upstairs.
Maybe throw a shit couch in the basement and a tv.
My office will take up a decent bit of it but it would still be nice to have a spot to sit down and watch television.
This project will also probably give me room to set up the foosball table.
It by no means will add much value to her house so I'm not trying to go out of my way here.
The real value that it will add is by freeing up more upstairs space for when she decides to redo her kitchen and maybe open the walls up some. A license contractor will have to do a lot of that though.
She has a vision and Id rather just move to a nicer house but in the mean time I might as well make myself comfortable and see if I can enable her vision a bit while not getting too carried away.

Made me really miss my old GTP and superchargers in general.
The guy we picked it out for immediately filled it up with the wrong gas...
Im sure he won't like paying 65 cents more a gallon for premium but the car is a lot more fun than any of the others we looked at.
Honestly wished he would have been okay with the old grandma Buick on account of it having 100k less miles but once common sense was out the window and we saw something with aftermarket rims we knew it was the car for him.
It wasn't my money but still I was trying to find something decent and not some rode hard black kid car.
Prices are high as fuck for used cars right now though and some of what was in the price range was plain shit.
One car we looked at was an old rusty chevy cobalt with a dick keyed onto the hood and 4 tires that looked like they sat in a field for 20 years. Engine sounded like a coinstar machine and the guy wanted $3k for that :(
The GTP ended up being $3k out the door which only didn't feel like a rip off because we spent probably 15-20 hours looking over the last couple days.

9/10 I can get through my day without having any issues with her as she usually causes issues for everyone else.
Last night though she was working directly across from me and I asked a simple question.
"What customer are you working on?"
and she fucking snapped at me and replied "I KNOW WHAT I AM DOING!"
I never said she didn't know what she was doing, I just was trying to figure out if I had the last of a particular customer and if we moved on to the next one, which customer it was as I didn't have any paper work telling me what was priority.
Almost immediately multiple co-workers took notice of her behavior yet again and tried to tell me to just leave her alone and "fuck that bitch".
Now I can understand why some would rather not have her around to put up with but in all honesty I prefer dealing with her.

The story is they met online somehow and he is stationed overseas in Turkey working for the US military and is some high up fancy pants.
They have never met in person but apparently have been talking for several months.
On Monday she took off work to go pick him up at the airport and she had taken the rest of the week off to spend with him.
On Tuesday she came back to work and I had to ask how her boyfriend was and her reply was that he got stopped at the airport in Turkey because he had morphine (prescribed) in his bag so they beat him up and threw him in jail.
I almost tried to act shocked but instead just went "right..."
So I asked her what she did and she said "I sent him a bunch of money to get out of jail."
And I said "right..."
Then I asked her if I could see a picture of him and she showed me a picture of what looks like a young Justin Beeber.
Then she went on about how he works at the embassy there and they won't even help him.
I said "right..."
And for the rest of the night I heard her repeat this load of shit story to all the people she worked around and the women were all like "OMG that cray cray."
and all the men were like "right..."
I wouldn't be surprised one fucking bit to find out she has been sending some guy she has never met nor will ever meet money for months.
And of course everything seems picture perfect in her head.
Im sorry but no young kid in the military (not that he is even real) is going to be trying to long distance hook up with this old hag of a woman.

Not much going on yet today.
I just woke up a little bit ago and drank my coffee.
My only plans for today are to cook lunch, clean, wrap a couple gifts for the cats and go pick up a prescription.
My neck still hurts from sleeping funny last Saturday and laying still in bed is about the only time I don't notice it as much.
Last night at work was kind of dumb.
Everyone was pissed off they want to change our hours and pretended like we could vote on it when we all knew that really they already made the decision.
The trans girl at work started flipping out about some product being in the wrong spot and no one seemed to care and I had to tell her to relax and that it isn't any of our jobs to worry about that.
Then she said everyone got fired the other day because they sucked at their jobs and not because my employer is a jack ass so I told her I would bet her money it happens again next year and she didn't seem to like the idea I might be right about it.
Really it wasn't a bad day for me or anything as all I did was walk in circles for 5 hours and pack some boxes for an hour and a half before going home early.
But once home I did absolutely nothing besides eat and watch King of the Hill.
I slept/laid in bed for 12 hours.

Never asked him much about his time in the war.
I knew photos had to exist but I never saw any of them until just the other day when I found a stack of them in a box shoved way up under the stairs at my dead aunts house.
I have uploaded them all for your viewing pleasure.
Never did I think I was going to find myself holding an original photograph of Hitler but here I am holding an origional photograph of Hitler.
As for what my grandpa did in WWII all I can say is he was in all theaters and worked as a map maker.

2021-11-30 at 5:35 PM UTC in Job Hunting ThreadStarted looking at possible jobs the other day and went back to it this morning just to see who is hiring and what places are paying.
It is alarming at the number of jobs available that don't pay a living wage but on the other hand that is why they are probably available.
My goal is to keep moving up my hourly wage and even if I can't make a big leap in regards to that right now I'd still like something new to do.
There are a couple of jobs I would like to apply to but at the same time I would feel a lot better waiting until after the holidays are over with.
As I have a little time before I'm comfortable switching again I think I'll spend my time making profiles and resumes for the jobs that do interest me so when the time comes I can be prepared.
