I had a vortech supercharger on a lifted ram i had a few years ago…brings back some fun memories but i often thought about the longevity and when it needs work its not going to be cheap. Same scanerio with your buddies new car except my supercharger only had about 25k miles on it when i sold the truck.
I named my old GTP "Richard" because it was gay how much money I had to put into maintenance on it.
Doesn't matter as he can't afford to fix it and I'll have to anyways.
He just lost his beat up old pickup truck because the drive shaft fell out which would have only cost whatever a could u-bolts go for these days but now that it is towed off it is too late.
I replaced so much on my GTP but I also drove it like an absolute jackass. -
2022-01-07 at 5:16 AM UTC in Buying myself a Mitsubishi Lancer Saturday (hopefully).Very kind lady I work with heard I was car shopping and happened to have a vehicle that she was thinking of selling.
I asked her how much and she said $1500 (negotiable) and I asked what year and she couldn't remember and said she didn't know much about cars and had been letting her daughter make payments to her on it but she quit paying her and ended up buying herself a minivan because she got knocked up...
I told her to send me some pictures and she did and I was going to see if the guy we got the GTP for today wanted it but getting this Lancer is an hours drive each way and it needs the bumper slapped back on.
Anyways, the guy didn't want it so I was going to tell her never mind when I saw her at work today but then she told me a little more about it and apparently its a 2010 and its got a TURBO CHARGER :)
At work she showed me a video of it running so I could hear it through a shitty phone and after all the work spent buying that GTP today and it costing $3k I just looked at her and said Ill go get out cash and pick it up Saturday whenever you want.
Really I don't give a shit fuck if it needs a doohickey or a thingumabob or if it has a dead body in the trunk and 4 flat tires.
I'm pretty sure worst case scenario I can turn right around and sell it for some profit.
Honestly though if it doesn't need a whole lot of work and makes the drive back okay I will probably sell my old Ford Escape especially seeing as how I still have to pay my rent next month...
I'm pretty fucking sure there's no way in hell Ill ever not make a profit on my Escape seeing as how I only paid $50 for it.
It's done me well but it has a slight oil leak, transmission leak, brake fluid leak, coolant leak and I wouldn't be surprised if it leaks windshield washer fluid too.
I still might drive it until the wheels fall off or it explodes but if I am going to sell it this is the time when I can get way more than it's actually worth.
We will see how it goes Saturday. I'm just hoping this lady still is okay selling it come then. I'm kicking myself for not meeting with her today and buying it but I was working on getting that car for someone else and not focused at all on anything else.
Looking forward to the possibility of driving more than 200 miles on a TANK of gas. -

The guy we picked it out for immediately filled it up with the wrong gas...
Im sure he won't like paying 65 cents more a gallon for premium but the car is a lot more fun than any of the others we looked at.
Honestly wished he would have been okay with the old grandma Buick on account of it having 100k less miles but once common sense was out the window and we saw something with aftermarket rims we knew it was the car for him.
It wasn't my money but still I was trying to find something decent and not some rode hard black kid car.
Prices are high as fuck for used cars right now though and some of what was in the price range was plain shit.
One car we looked at was an old rusty chevy cobalt with a dick keyed onto the hood and 4 tires that looked like they sat in a field for 20 years. Engine sounded like a coinstar machine and the guy wanted $3k for that :(
The GTP ended up being $3k out the door which only didn't feel like a rip off because we spent probably 15-20 hours looking over the last couple days.
Hopefully the guy babys it and can drive it long enough to get on his feet. -

Start of the first work week of the year.
I have been at my current job for 10 months now.
Just checked online to see if any opening anywhere might interest me and they do not.
Earlier this morning I briefly tried to play Minecraft and quickly lost interest playing alone.
With a little over 2 hours left until I leave for work today I plan on focusing on preparing to start coding by reinstalling an OS on my OptiPlex. Also going to clean up my apartment some as well as myself.
My schedule seems way off to me and I have a lot to still do outside of my normal job and being at home but I've got to start waking up early enough to get it done.
I think I will probably go ahead and get everything ready to go to work tomorrow too so that maybe I can just hop out of bed in the morning, get in my car and go make some extra cash.
This coming weekend I have a late x-mas party to go to and I'm suppose to bring a $25 or less gift for a gift exchange which I still need to get.
I'm trying to hold off on buying myself anything stupid for a while as I need to save up more money for another car that I'll eventually need. Right now if mine broke completely FUBAR Id probably be able to find something but it would be crappy and given my current situation Id feel better if it was at least semi-reliable.
Hopefully I will get some money back at tax time this year unlike last year when I only made off with a couple hundred dollars somehow.
Today when I go into work I am hoping one of my friends will be back from their vacation so I can bullshit with them. I haven't seen them in a few weeks now and there are just those certain people that make your day better just by being there if you know what I mean.
Anyways, I gotta go jump in the shower.

9/10 I can get through my day without having any issues with her as she usually causes issues for everyone else.
Last night though she was working directly across from me and I asked a simple question.
"What customer are you working on?"
and she fucking snapped at me and replied "I KNOW WHAT I AM DOING!"
I never said she didn't know what she was doing, I just was trying to figure out if I had the last of a particular customer and if we moved on to the next one, which customer it was as I didn't have any paper work telling me what was priority.
Almost immediately multiple co-workers took notice of her behavior yet again and tried to tell me to just leave her alone and "fuck that bitch".
Now I can understand why some would rather not have her around to put up with but in all honesty I prefer dealing with her.

I feel all stuffed up (my nose) am trying to drink my coffee so I can start my day.
I was planning on going to work this morning but since I slept so late I'm going to just focus on getting all the little things done I need to get done for the rest of the week to go well.
Hopefully by the time I go into work today I'll have paid my rent, made returns to 2 separate stores and maybe even have bought some groceries or at least ordered them for pick up so I can get them tomorrow.
I had a good 3 day weekend but little of it seemed like down time as I was always doing something or other.
Anyways, I hope everyone is off to a great day.

My goal this weekend is to move my bed out into my living room and surround it with tv's and computers so that I don't have to do much moving around.
Then I can give each cat a bedroom and/or just close the rooms off and save on heating.
The landlady wouldn't let me downsize so I'm going to show her.
