2021-10-27 at 10:48 PM UTC in You would be happier with kidsSo Cowboy2013 has kids and likes them, and then sudo and a bunch of people who don't have kids thinks they're meh?
Which is it?
Personally I want kids just to have someone to hand stuff off to when I am old, but also I feel sorry for anyone born around now - earth is way over-populated, and the west is on a massive downslope. My kids will not enjoy the standard of living I do. -

2021-10-27 at 5:48 PM UTC in Kyle Rittenhouse: Am I missing something? He worked nearby (“across state limes” was apparently 20 min from home). He disliked the rioting, feral scumbags (as should any red blooded american). After consecutive nights of arson and looting, a car lot owner asked a group of some kind to make a show of force to protect his property. Kyle drove down and spent the day cleaning up after the rioters and providing medical aid to people. At some point in the night a pedophile became enraged that rittenhouse put out his literal dumpster fire that hed probably worked all night starting from kindling to deminstrate his fiery love for black lives, and then decided to chase down the kid with the gun. Rest is history. lol.

2021-10-27 at 2:17 PM UTC in Has Trump done anything to help the retards who rioted for him?I’ve read an article saying a lot of them are still in jail awaiting trial.
After donating money to a supposed billionaire, then rioting because he told you to it seems like he could spare something.
Ah well MAGA/MIGA 2024 retards…for those who aren’t convicted felons then. If so you can still fly his flags on your truck. -

It's the job of the courts to decide if what he did was legally justified, regardless of whether or not you personally think what he did was justifiable self-defense. This is not complicated. If you want what you think to be the letter of the law, raise an army and become King of Wisconsin or High King of America or some shit. Otherwise fuck off.

2021-10-27 at 4:04 AM UTC in Do circles objectively exist?
Originally posted by mmG Couldn't you call this the result of an intersubjective convenience we have developed to describe things we see in the world? Certainly the understanding of a circle as a concept existed before the concept of formalized geometry at all. We invented the wheel before we invented geometry. The geometric concept of a circle was constructed as a way to describe things we saw in the world that fit closely enough to fall into particular categories.
Well which thing is the one you're questioning the existence of? Are you talking about the rough and ready way in which the shape of the sun or a wheel is circular? If so the objection that examples of circles we find are imperfect is no objection at all, _that_ notion of a circle isn't formalized and is fully embodied by things we might casually say are circular. Cleary such circles exist.
The complaint that the physical substrata of the universe may not support perfectly circular objects requires that by "circle" you mean the formalized geometric concept, in which case see my former comment: sets of points are obviously not physical objects so talking about the physical possibility of them is pointless (heh).Do you think it's possible that the idea of non physical things existing could be an illusion?
I don't think it's illusory, I think it just depends on what you take "exist" to mean. If your definition of "exist" is "there's a physical object or collection thereof to which this word applies" then sure, non physical things don't exist. But again, that's not how I use the word, that's not how most people use the word in every day usage, and it's definitely not how the technical term "exists" works in mathematics, which is probably the most relevant definition to us here what with circles being mathematical objects. -
