I hate other people’s children too. Unless they remind me of my own. I think that’s normal. If you had a kid on the way though you’d be happy getting ready for it. I guess it doesn’t stay that way but you’re still better off. -

I'm around my kid and a step kid I've been around since he was 8 months old so they're basically both my kids. Have another kid whose a Lil older but Im lucky to spend 8 hours a month with her. Much like Wu tang I am also for the children -

If you enjoy money and freedom don't have kids.
If you enjoy giving up on your dreams/desires/goals as well as constant worry have kids.

Personally I want kids just to have someone to hand stuff off to when I am old, but also I feel sorry for anyone born around now - earth is way over-populated, and the west is on a massive downslope. My kids will not enjoy the standard of living I do. -

my parents didn't plan on having a kid it just happened and they tried to make it work but it didn't and had no long term investments or property. I don't have jack shit not a dime from them and it's like why even have a kid, I lend my parents money.

Don't get me wrong kids are magical, beautiful and amazing but in order for them not to grow up to be niggerfucking strippers (goes for boys too, this is 2021) you have to be an active parent and that means devoting most of your time, money and energy to their upbringing. I'm in a very good position to have children and the child rearing lifestyle is pretty depressing. Watching kids learn and grow is a beautiful and rewarding thing that nothing can compare to but it's also difficult keeping them at the forefront of your mind when it comes to every decision you make.
The world is a fucked up place too, if you're not going to go 100% in on the kid you shouldn't be having them. -

Did you end up getting and closer (or any closure) with your father? I remember a series of posts you made a while back after learning of your proximity and things you were both going through. It would be hard not to be spiteful.
I'm lucky in that my father was there with all his faults and the only time he pulled a nigger and high tailed was when cps (or dcs for you yanks) got involved. Took me a long time to forgive and every story is different but has similarities
Anyway, a source of pride for me is being a better father than my own was. If I can take that to my grave I will have no regrets -

I messaged him through Facebook explaining who I was and said I was interested in meeting and would have no animosity. He was/is super active in Alcoholics Anonymous and at the time I was going to a few meetings here and there with a girl I knew, who knew him through the local program, so we arranged to meet up at a fucking AA meeting.
I go there, awkwardly shake his hand and shit, and sit near him during the meeting. We have brief awkward conversation afterwards, during which he doesn't ask me anything about myself or show any interest in me whatsoever, then proceeded to try to talk AA/church shit to me immediately.
We very half heartedly said some shit about contacting each other again to meet for a lunch but I decided not to bother since he seemed like a loser who didn't give a fuck about me anyways and I didn't hear from him again. He had/has leukemia so for all I know he could be dead because this was two years ago. -
