If you're in Canada and you like rights, doesn't matter what kinds, i suggest you go buy as many firearms as you can right now. Also high capacity magazines, and basically every box of ammo on the shelf. Trudeau's 'freeze' and 'gun cap' is effectively a ban.

If you have a tendency to over-share in certain situations, ask the person you're sharing with if they don't mind and if they do to stop you if they get uncomfortable. IRL, i have this thing where i'll start talking about niche things i have a good deal of knowledge on or am otherwise fascinated by or passionate about.
I feel like it could be annoying to those around me, especially if they have zero interest in the subject at all. So i generally make sure to tell them to stop me, if they find the stuff i say to be boring, too convoluted or otherwise objectionable for whatever reason. Agreeable people will tend to let me talk their ears off if i don't tell them it's perfectly ok for them to say they wish to talk about something else. It's not the exact same, but i think the same solutions could apply.
