I fucking loved that book! I learned about that book in 12th grade, can't remember how, and asked my sister to get it for me from a library she and my younger brother went to regularly that was further away (Heh, I still fucking hated going outside back then.). I was specifically looking for the unabridged edition and fortunately they had it.
I actually used to consider Valentine one of my role models, as odd as that may sound.
Really, it's a pretty famous book. I thought it was fantastic, very memorable and unique. Even now, 10 years later, I can still remember the general story. Right now memories are coming back to me, visualizations of the scenes, certain parts of the book, how it ends.
Wow, I can really remember a surprising amount. Must be because it made such an impression on me. Definitely one of the top fiction books I've read.

Look, I even made some friends. I've been gaining their trust since earlier this year when I first spotted them. Ash seems to be a stray/neighborhood cat, likely had a home earlier in her life, and she also has her ear clipped, which is a sign that a stray/feral cat has been spayed or neutered. Bella seems to be semi-feal based on her temperament, not nearly as socialized, although she likely had a home at one point, but has been homeless too long and won't let me touch/pet her. Little Guy is her daughter and was never socialized during the critical period, so she's even more adverse to people, fully feral, although I've gained her trust enough that she feels comfortable coming inside to eat and me being within 5 feet of her, even closer if she's calm and I use the proper technique to not frighten her.
Ash today, in the kitchen cupboard above the counter. She likes to spend most of her time in here, even multiple days, now:

Unrelated, I swear I just got through a relatively shorter hydro posts in under 10 seconds. Even at 10, that would be around 3600 wpm. I must learn to hone and fully harness this power.
I mean, I've read descriptions of some people who could seemingly go through pages like normal people go through headlines and I feel like I completely understand at this point. The style is completely different from normal reading, I don't even have to fully focus my eyes or move them and I can take in multiple lines at ones. It's normal for people to be able to take in multiple words at once and be able to process them into a coherent whole, this is simply a far more extreme version of that.
Of course the subject matter influences this immensely, it could never be done with writing at a far more advanced level that's conveying something substantial. Still, it's immensely valuable for being able to gloss over everything you already know or can grasp/predict, the general "flow" or pattern of it, and be able to locate exactly the information that's of value to you. You know, it's interesting to think about deviations related to the 5-HT2A receptor as it relates to autism/Asperger's. In a way, I may actually be naturally far saner and more rational than neurotypicals, resistant to insanity. This is very different than the variety of (severe) mental illnesses I currently posses, that I've displayed and episodes I've experienced in the past, I assure you.
I distinctly noticed that even under fairly high doses of psychedelics I would remain surprisingly rational. As in, of course there were various profound modulations in the conscious experience, but my coherence, grasp of reasoning, always remained, I always felt like myself.
It's kind of like a superpower. Super-rationality and resistance to mental/cognitive incoherence, what I would define as "insanity".
Oh, I've got it! As to the aforementioned at the end of paragraph one, it should not be difficult to believe and accept that a normal person would have been far more damaged given everything I've experienced in life,in conjunction with my neurological abnormalities, the process of the development of my mind, my worldview/thoughts on all the various aspects of life etc. I've stated before that damn near anyone would have become hopelessly insane or committed suicide quite some time ago. So, as you see (Lanny), it actually supports my hypothesis after all and doesn't seem as ridiculous as it initially may have seemed. I was actually going for irony at first toward the end, but then came to this thought.
In fact, I'm so devoted and naturally inclined toward pure reason that I can even accept positions such as anti-natalism, ascribing a negative value to the creation of life and being opposed to it, and even the desirability of the end of all life in existence, despite them going in stark contrast to the strongest evolutionary forces that molded man and led to the strongest cognitive biases and being profoundly counterintuitive, arguably the most counterintuitive and difficult positions to fully grasp, without hesitation, any emotional interference, or cognitive biases interfering. If it were determined that consciousness/identity were "illusory" or that it the optimal/most reasonable choice was non-existence I would commit suicide without hesitation simply due to how remarkably reasonable I am. If anything it could prove I was potentially the most reasonable being in known existence, possibly ever to have existed, as far as we know.

You would literally need to rush to a hospital ASAP to avoid as much permanent neurological damage as possible. Even under the best circumstances there would likely be considerable apoptosis, even vascular rupturing. At the very least it would be an excruciating and horrifying experience that would land you in the ICU for days, or at least the general hospital under monitoring and treatment.
Really terrifying what would happen if someone were to make such an idiotic mistake, or were drugged.

Yes, yes! I can see my eugenic vision coming to fruition! Even if it failed, it would be a spectacular, hilarious, failure that would go down in history for until it was largely forgotten.
