another I read about a long time ago was an excerpt cited and used as supporting evidence in multiple WWII university courses discussing extermination procedures - reading the text in it's entirety though, as opposed to just the excerpt, the author talks about 'hundreds of pregnant women being burned alive' in a giant oven - and that he'd seen their burning children explode from their stomachs.

True story, years ago I was so pissed at the irrationality of the kanji system (Hieroglyphs! Oh, and inefficiency as well, which I suppose can be a subset of irrationality.) that I rage quit0-and-rationalized learning Japanese, despite (regardless of) not finding it difficult, despite my very poor (possibly? (adjusted(for circumstances/environment))) propensity for human language.

Didn't take it with the intention to get high. Of course I'm neurologically abnormal and could be hypersensitive, and I also took a higher than usual dose of memantine (Terrible unrelenting intrusive thoughts. It never ends.). I wonder how I'll feel tomorrow. Doubt this would be a superior anti-depressant to ketamine, but of course I haven't done enough research (I still remember the studies you linked to, sploo. Potentially fascinating.) to state that with a high (enough) level of confidence.
