Dude, you have no idea. When she gave birth to me, she had kidney stones. They wanted to remove them surgically which would have killed me but saved her. They were afraid that a C-section would kill her but save me. They flew her to Nashville where she told them that God didn't give her a son to take him away, so they did the C-section first before removing the stones. Miraculously, we both survived. That was my birthday.
Shortly after, I was diagnosed with a hernia in my nutsack and fucking SIDS. I'd stop breathing for no apparent reason in the middle of the night. They put me under before my first birthday to repair the hernia, and I wore a baby monitor until angel of crib death had passed. I was still in diapers by the time I was had a bad reaction to the pertussis vaccine.
I put a lot of miles on that woman before I could even wipe my own ass. I just hope that my son learned half as much about love from her as I did. -

No, I've been smoking pretty consistently the past few days and going on little sleep. It's actually pretty awesome that I keep my shit straight enough that only a little bitty typo like that eluded me.

Anbesol and the like have never worked very well for me. I'd rather use tylenol or motrin, but I've had to take max doses of both to ease this pain, so I had to use something a little stronger. -

I have an awesome family. We've already made her arrangements and there's no worry about it. She'll be buried close to my grandmother and great grandmother and her father and more family than I even know. After all the stress and preparation for this moment I'm glad that we don't have to worry about paying for it of all things.
I've been sleeping as much as I can. There's a lot of us in this house, so I'm sleeping a chair lol.
My mom was amazing. She's the best person I've ever known. I'm glad that I got her humor. -

I'm sorry it's so hard, especially with the timing too. It completely changed my world when my dad died. He was my best friend, and well… Only real parent I've had…only real family I've had, aside from my son, and a few close friends,and he was closer to me than all of them. I truly sympathize for what you're going through, Hamp. I wish I could do or say something to make it better, but… Unfortunately I can't… Some people say time heals all wounds… I not so sure about that, as I have a lot of wounds in my heart, including my dad dying, that still are yet to heal, but maybe with more time… I don't know.

I appreciate your thoughts, but one thing. Don't call yourself worthless. Hell, even if it's true, saying that is only going to make you feel more worthless. I've been dealing with self-esteem issues with my son for about a year now, and if there's one thing that I've learned it's that we all have value to someone in some way. Most of the time you determine your own worth to those people, and you'll do so according to how much you care for them and how far you'd be willing to go to make them happy. Be the kind of person that you would want to go as far is as needed to fulfill yourself.
Anyway, thanks again for your thoughts. I'm grateful that this community is still here. We've all loved and lost quite a bit in the relatively short time that we've known each other. I doubt that I'll be drinking anything in the near future, but when I do I'm going to pour a little out for all the space niggas (and their alts) that have come into and gone out of our lives over the years. -

Mayfield's show on 103.3 WKDF in Nashville when I was about 3 or 4, and she would pretend to be an older black lady named Ruby. She would get all in their shit and have everybody rollin'. Eventually, she talked to Carl P. off-air and admitted that she was trollin' the whole time and that she was really an almost middle-aged white woman when they wanted to meet Ruby in person. We drove to the station and she brought the crew a few fudge pies. Mom was something else.
