Globalists control the EU and even manipulate currencies.
Have you?
Can you name a single terrorist attack Iran was responsible for in the last 20 years? You're just repeating stupid slogans like 'Iran wants to destroy America!!' without understanding anything about the matter.
The truth is, virtually all terrorism today is committed by Sunni groups (spefically the extreme Wahabbi-Salafist sects), directly armed by the Gulf states (mostly Saudi Arabia) and financed by the US and Israel. Sunnis and Shiites are opposing Islamic ideologies. Israel and the US fund these terrorists in order to cause infighting among Muslims in an attempt to break the united front against Israel's dreams of owning the region.
Israel has no legitimacy, siphons billions (likely trillions) of US public funds that could otherwise be used to repair your decaying infrastructure and supports the 'terrorists' you're so afraid of. The reason it enjoys such deep US support is because people in powerful places are ideologically bound to support it, and everyday peons like yourself buy into the all-pervasive 'greatest ally' propaganda. These were past presidents…not Trump.
lol. This is exactly why I brought up Syria in the first place. He's continuing to support terrorist groups, even if the policy wasn't initially his choice.
True, he's shut down many of the DoD programs delivering support to rebel groups, but this was likely just to reduce the conflicts between DoD and CIA supported terrorists - nothing has been done to reign in the CIA's operations. The US saved Europe in WW2 from extreme socialism and you idiots still haven't learned your lesson.
The US only entered the war after the outcome had been decided - it didn't save anyone from anything. The war was decided at Kursk and Stalingrad, and the US only entered when it was safe to claim victory without taking significant losses. -

Originally posted by Captain I believe Lanny is avoiding the uncomfortable question here.
I'm not. People who argue plants have hedonic faculties generally state in the general form of "plants can react to stimulus, so they must be able to feel pain!" which I think is a really flimsy argument. In general I think this is a camp that takes some real and interesting findings in biology and draws wholly invalid conclusions from them. But Obbe did put it in the most interesting way the question can be framed, as a hypothetical.
So if we found that all life is capable of well being or suffering, which I've put forward as the criterion for moral considerability, then we need to ask what the distribution and degree of considerability is among species. If plants have a very slight hedonic faculty but humans a much greater one, then it may be justifiable to inflict the amount of suffering required for our well being on plants. For what it's worth I think this argument applies to animals too: the lives of humans are certainly more considerable than those of chickens and I would never say that a starving person is doing something wrong for eating a chicken, it's simply that when we have a choice between eating an animal, which is somewhat less morally considerable than us, and a plant, which I think is totally morally unconsiderable, then we do something wrong by harming the animal.
So what if plants end being capable the same or greater depth of feeling than animals? I think the situation is really pretty far fetched, but if it was the case then I guess most of us would be obligated to die since I doubt we could sustain a very large population on fruit or whatever other sources of calories are available to us without killing anything.

2018-06-16 at 7:38 AM UTC in A proclimation of my love for dear fralalaDear Frala,
We have only been together a few weeks, but already I know we were meant to be. I can see it in the way you look at me, those sparkling brown eyes of yours. The tiny pimples on your face, glowing like lunar craters. You are the embodiment of human sexuality, the pinnacle of womanhood. When I look out into the world, I see not women, but girls. Girls who try, but never succeed. Not like you do. You, Frala, are special.
You may not know we have been dating, and that is fine. I'll admit that I have been wondering when you would respond to the countless letters I have been sending, but it doesn't matter. If you aren't ready, you aren't ready. I know one day you will be, and I want you to know that I'll be patiently waiting.
I've already applied for a lease just a flew blocks down from your apartment. It wasn't easy packing my life and things on such short notice. My girlfriend threw a fit over it, but she is but an ant to us giants of love. Insignificant and squishable.
I look forward to the next time we can share proximity.
Love,
Ensign §m£ÂgØL. -

Sure, let's call it potential to participate in the social contract
OK, so let's suppose Joe Psychopath happens upon a healthy looking child who's like, IDK, 4 or 5 or something. An age before they can appreciate the idea of a social contract. Joe tortures the child inflicting a lot of pain a maiming them for life. Joe goes on his way thinking he's done a good job of ruining or significantly degrading the child's life.
But there's a twist: unbeknownst to anyone, the child has a rare heart condition that's going to cause him to die in a few months or years. The universe is, per your assumption, deterministic meaning the child will die inevitably. The child's person also never extends forwards far enough to participate in a social contract and thus never had potential to do so.
In such a case, under your model, we seem committed to say Joe Psychopath did nothing wrong as the temporally extended child is not morally considerable. Now of course we can't say he was justified in torturing the child as he had no way to know that the child was not morally considerable, but we would seem to have to say he serendipitously avoided doing wrong by harming a morally irrelevant being. -
