I get it. I sorta have the same complaint about noita as project zomboid in that its depth is lost in the roguelike elements. Less of a problem for noita in that you can git gud and experience the game, as opposed to just getting rnganked before you get to engage with the game’s systems, but still, the difficulty really keeps you out of the parts of the game you should be enjoying like experimentation and discovery. And I get how the single life thing adds to the game, but it’s still a problem if a game is totally impenetrable.
RoR2 I think actually handled this really well. You start the game by necessity playing the intended difficult experience, which you’re not going to be able to beat for a while, but after a number runs you’ll find essentially what are game modifiers, things that double enemy spawn rates, health, damage, and some wacky stuff too. None of it is all good or all bad, just trade offs . If you play around with these long enough you’ll trivialize the game for yourself and anyone who plays for long enough turns it all off to get the original experience. But it’s a really interesting way of letting players tinker with the difficulty while they learn how to play the game that isn’t just a enemy-tankiness-slider, the configurations you end up trying out will teach you about how the game works, what counters what, etc.
All that to say, I wholly endorse the noita respawn mod because it encourages experimentation in a way the game should be doing on its own, beyond just killing you everything you try but making you restart enough so that you can’t develop a stable strategy -

2024-09-15 at 2:39 PM UTC in How good is Raspberry Pi 4 emulation of PS1 and Nintendo 64 games?Idk, never tried it, you’d probably have to just give it a shot to find out. I remember my old shitty pentium 4 computer ran p64 just fine and it ran at a similar clock speed, although that doesn’t tell you much of anything since it’s an x86 (32 bit) vs modern ARM comparison plus there’s a lot more that goes into perf than clock speed

There’s something cosmically ironic about fona phone fonaplats getting his fona phone blown up. Perhaps brad has grown, thrown out fona and seized the fona phone throne. I wish I’d known -

Damn, 40% back on my steam library would be a nice little pay day. God speed brother -
