    Yeah, from what I understand there were 70 missiles launched from israel, roughly half intercepted.

    They claim to be attacking the IRGC Al-Quds brigades but to the best of my knowledge, outside of a small detachment of advisers there's no military Iranian presence in Syria - it's Hezbullah doing the heavy lifting.

    dont believe anything coming from the kike media...meaning direct juden-land media, wapo, jediyork times, etc. they publish the rhetoric they want the goyim to read and not what the actual reality of the situation is.

    yeah, you don't need to tell me about jedi trickery.

    Missiles being intercepted is interesting to me. I always assumed missile defence was a con-job.

    Also Ramadan starts Tuesday, I wonder if that will change things.

    Depends on the missile and the radar system supporting it. ICBM defence is largely worthless due to ICBMs coming down like meteors from the stratosphere and having decoy and avoidance tech, but rocket artillery follow an easily predictable arc and many closer-range (ie. Theatre-Ballistic-Missiles and Air to Surface missiles) weapons make little effort to avoid countermeasures - I believe most rockets travel the distance between Syria and Golan in less than a minute

    OK, from what I can tell the 70 (60 air-surface and 10 surface-surface) missiles were launched at various targets in Syria, most of which were either static anti-air radar sites (BUK and S200) and some were at mobile PANTSIR-S1 and S2 sites. Several static radars were hit, few of the mobile PANTSIRs took any damage since the SAA aren't behaving like morons and keep them mobile now (in the last war mobile anti-air units were left static for convenience and were easily destroyed). Syria claims to have brought down ~40 of them.

    The interpretation of events on the ground is that Israel intentionally mounted a weak attack initially (the two missiles into Kisweh, both stopped by the SAA) force a response from the SAA, who returned fire into the Golan (as promised) with MLRS batteries. Israel was able to repel the missile artillery and claimed it was 'aggression', which they 'responded to' with a much larger pre-organised missile strike.

    News coming out of Russia appears grim - Putin's brought Medvedev back on as prime minister and pushed out much of the nationalistic old guard (like Shoigu), giving the impression that the government's focus will be appeasement of the US/EU rather than protecting Russian interests - Putin keeping quiet about Netenyahu's crass behaviour, ordering strikes on Syria while in Russia for the victory parades, does not bode well.

    haven't been able to do much in-depth research these last few days, but Hezbullah and Lebanese media have published a list of targets that the SAA's missile barrage targeted - they claim to have confirmed several hits:

    1/ a military technical and electronic reconnaissance center;
    2/ border security and intelligence station 9900;
    3/ a military center for electronic jamming;
    3/ a military spy center for wireless and wired networks;
    4/ a transmission station;
    5/ an observatory of precision weapons unit ;
    6/ a combat heliport;
    7/ the headquarters of the Regional Military Command of Brigade 810;
    8/ the command center of the military battalion at Hermon;
    9/ winter headquarters of a special alpine unit.

    #2 is of special significance because it's something like a central node for intelligence processing.
    It's worth noting that Israeli journalists have expressed doubt at the official 'all missiles were intercepted' story, but the state can impose prison sentences on people for contradicting the official line.

    lol, I was talking about Israeli facilities that were targeted by Syrian missile artillery, it was Hez that released the list

    Same question though really, I didn't know it ever snowed around there, or maybe it's a translation error

    i know they have the odd little bit up the mountains but i wouldn't have thought enough to warrant an alpine unit, lol.
