The reality is that the human eye cannot perceive over 480p resolution. All you can do is put together 480p images. I have already explained these scientific facts before here in this post:

The eye can theoretically perceive difference in an unlimited number of resolutions, as the informing factors for the brain when processing the signal (as jig has pointed out) are display size and distance from the display.
You're like the "human eye can't see above x frames per second" people. In that case it's entirely dependent on what frame rate the video was captured or rendered in in the first place and how rapidly movement occurs. You wouldn't notice the difference between real time footage of a sunset at 10fps and 30fps, but a hummingbird in flight captured at 1000fps and played back at 60fps is literally slow motion.
Video capture and playback technology has literally fuck all to do with human biology since it sort of developed independently of it. "thE HUmaN eYE cAnt sEE ovEr 480p" is some mid-2000's GameFAQs console fanboy shit. -
