I would try to have a private conversation with him where you indicate that you care for his ex wife and only want what is best for her and the kid. Let him know you are not trying to take on any more paternal responsibilities than are absolutely necessary given the circumstances. Let him know you want him in his kids life and don't want your relationship with his ex wife to fracture that or make anything difficult. I'm sure he will respect you for being a stand up guy about it and it may open a dialog between you
This guy spends all his money on tracksuits, sneakers and matching hats.
He's in his forties and acts like a hood rat.

while he roams around the house in the morning playing and caring for his kid. The thought of being unconscious in bed with this guy's ex-wife while he comes over to take care of the kid in the morning gives me mixed feelings. I want him in his kid's life. I don't want conflict or bad blood. I don't want to get riddled with bullets in the middle of having a good dream.
Tomorrow he was going to come over in the morning to watch the kid so my girlfriend could take her time getting ready for work. She informed him thus afternoon that I had moved in and would be there. Then he abruptly cancelled...
I can imagine his feelings too and can only hope we get past this awkwardness for the sake of his children and my peace of mind.

Idk what maskirovna means and I have to imagine that's what the narrative is back in Russia.
Idk how they're going to frame it in the future. It's undoubtedly making Russia weaker and is going to open them up to attacks. The fact they're not even getting much out of it just makes it worse
Maskirovka is the art of deception. It's an old Russian doctrine that was developed in the 1920's.
