One thing that always comes to mind, though, with this particular debate is a machinery metaphor...

When you try to make something run unnaturally faster than it's supposed, it just seems like you're going to cause more "wear and tear" on the parts, and that doesn't seem exclusive to things like factory equipment and automobiles.

Cellular activity isn't free, after all. It requires energy to operate.

Like I said, my inclination is definitely towards stimulants being worse for you than CNS depressants.

I'm just trying to point out that certain biases can cause blind spots.

I was going over my pay statements, and tracking my income over the past year...

When I discovered that I made about ~$4,500 in the month of October alone, it was kinda surreal. However, that's because the timing resulted in me getting three pay checks in one month.

Still, though, it was kinda mind-blowing.

I can't wait till I go full freelance - that should at least double, if not triple, or more.

I might even invest in a hemp farm like OP.

I'm going to go with YES.

I was drinking all day, every day for all of December, and most of November. In addition to that, I was taking GHB every single day, sometimes all day as well. I've been able to successfully taper off of the GHB, as well as the day-drinking, back to my nightly drinking habit. I may even manage to taper that down as well, although that would be more of a surprising bonus outcome.

Also, work is going really well, and my finances are coming together better than I could ever have anticipated (credit score is consistently rising, debts are reducing drastically by the pay check).

I've also returned to my healthier eating habits that I somehow lapsed from some time last Summer, and have started exercising regularly as well.

I've also been becoming more and more productive and goal-oriented with regards to other goals as well (i.e. on top of my career, financial, sobriety, and physical health goals).

It's only been one week, and already I feel like 2019 has been a raving success. I can only imagine what more is to come.

Intuitively, it feels that way, but it's important to realize that certain biases might be at play.

I have a tendency to prefer CNS depressants (opiates, relaxants, GABAergics, etc) over stimulants.

Might it not be coincidence that I feel healthier when I take the drugs I prefer?

These "drug X is better than drug Y for Z reason" arguments are never really all that productive, and just result in people justifying (rationalizing?) their own particular drug of choice.

And then it gets even thornier when we start citing empirical research (that is, if it even gets that far...), because the definition of "dangerous" is incredibly vague; and the same things goes with "unhealthy"/"bad-for-you", etc.

Although, the worst comparative drug quality metric is "better/worse." Holy fuck, I can't stand those arguments. Debate 101, people: define your terms.

Yeah that's precisely why I want to take it. But I keep reading conflicting reports about daily use vs occasional single-use.

It seems like, if being taken to treat/assuage anxiety, taking it daily would pretty much be the point, wouldn't it?

I tend to do a lot of GABAergic drugs because of their anxiolytic effects. When compared to the likes of GHB and so on, phenibut seems like a pretty reasonable alternative for day-to-day use.

Whatever the case, I'm playing things by ear right now. We'll see how things progress, or regress, as events unfold over the next few days/weeks.
