I'm probably the biggest proponent here for thickening our ranks, but alts aren't the way to do it.
Most of the users here are younger than your average Totse icon. I love that panthrax is still around, but him and I are anomalies. Oh and Rizzo too, and SpectraL, etc, and a few others early registrants at Totse.
Anyway, my point is that we need to curb the use of alts and increase incoming traffic via other means.

I was legitimately a junkie.
I can't pinpoint an exact moment when that realization actually kicked in, but it was definitely a long way into the whole ordeal.
You actually go through a series of standard phases:
1. The "casual/recreational user" phase: The first time I did heroin was in 2005 (other opiates like codeine and oxycodone might have been a bit earlier, I don't remember for sure). During this phase, you LEGITIMATELY are not addicted. You can buy like a full gram of heroin and actually SAVE SOME for weeks if you have enough money to actually buy a gram (that's a lot of heroin... it's not like weed where a gram costs you pocket change). Tolerance is practically zero, which is something you come to dramatically envy in later years.
2. The "whenever I can get it" phase: For me, this was about FIVE YEARS after the start of phase 1. I had a couple friends who were dealing at the time (they NEVER used hard drugs at the time, but it was a quick and easy buck... heck, I even dabbled in it for a little while, but I was a user myself). I sometimes rode around with one friend while he did deliveries, and would get a bunch (of heroin) from him. It gradually turned from every other weekend to every weekend, then all weekend long, then on some weeknights, then every weeknight, and, ultimately, one day (it might have been as much as a year or more after the start this particular phase), you just plain need the stuff.
3. The "junkie in denial" phase: At this point, you are a certified junkie. BUT, the rub about this part here is that you actually have no idea. People will point it out to you, but you still feel like you're the "casual user" from phase 1. You will say anything to justify it. You will recite the ridiculously played out cliches from after school specials and all that like "I can stop anytime I want". You're an addict, you just don't know it yet.
4. The "oh fuck, I actually am addicted" phase: I'd mark this roughly around the time I transitioned from intranasal heroin use to IV use. Luckily for me, I was able to come to this realization a lot sooner than many addicts do, and I had JUST ENOUGH things going on in my life outside of opiates to motivate me to work towards quitting. Once you're in stage 4, opiates are no longer "the best thing" out there, they are "the only thing". Literally nothing else matters. Family, friends, previous goals and ambitions, etc. Your moral compass will at the very least bend a little bit, but in some cases, go straight up haywire.
So if you find yourself even in phase 2, CARRY ON WITH EXTREME CAUTION.
You will be fundamentally blind and deaf to all advice once you're well into stage 3. -

As far as as I know, raid isn't even psychoactive.
And even if it is, it's FATALLY DANGEROUS.
There are other inhalants actually worth trying:
1. Nitrous oxide (one of the drugs I feel everyone should really try at least once).
2. Amyl nitrates (I can't attest to safety matters on this one, but I have sniffed my way through a few bottles of the stuff - commonly found, at least in yesteryear, in sex shops... AKA: "Poppers", "leather cleaner", etc).
3. Ether (I have yet to try this diamond in the rough, but plan to some day).
Things like raid, gasoline, computer duster, white out, glue, highlighters, etc... These are not things you huff.
The above three are, at least potentially, things you might huff. -

That's definitely another thorny issue.
The central underlying issue of sexual consent seems to be the progenitor of all kinds of different ethical (and political) debates the world over.
I mean, you even have (total wackjobs, IMO) claims that ANY penis-in-vagina sex is rape (again, fringe wackjobs... not particularly common, and to be taken all that seriously).
There seems to be something about the act of coitus that just hits everybody on some fundamental level.
I imagine if women were programming these bots, they'd come out a heck of a lot different than if it were primarily men in charge.
The "why" is a much more elusive question. -

That's we call a philosophical conundrum.
Machines can be programmed to prefer certain "sensations" (maybe experiences is a better term for such machines) over other "sensations", but is that sufficient to qualify for the status of "pleasure"?

They only recently started adding heroin to a shot because it gives it some extra kick.

Very few people overcome an addiction like that.
The two people I did heroin with back in 2005... NONE OF US had tried it yet...
We got a bag (can't remember how much) and pulled out some tin foil and half a plastic bottle (for easier smoke capture)...
They both ended up throwing up (very common side effect with opiates).
I liked it, they didn't.
15 years later, they're both daily IV heroin users, and I don't even take so much as a tylenol 3 (codeine) for a tooth ache.
Kinda strange how that turned out. -

I actually first TRIED heroin in 2005 (while I was with her; she was not present at the time... she was kinda straightedge, other than drinking at clubs and parties and stuff). But that was a one time thing. I didn't start using with any regularity until 2010.
