   That's just a convention.
   
   They could have used exclamation marks or question marks or freaking emojis if they wanted to.
   
   You need some kind of symbol to instruct the browser and DNS services how to parse a particular URL.

   But what if you want to rent out a room in the White House (lol)...
   
   Then they might get their own suite called Apartment B.
   
   So you could then start dividing that domain up into multiple hosts...

   I know this scenario all too well.
   
   You could always try, but, I wouldn't get your hopes up.
   
   Doctor's really have to cover their asses more and more these days as public opinion is starting to shift the blame for pill addictions onto them.
   
   Considering that, I can't say I blame doctor's for being extra super cautious about prescribing addictive meds, especially to higher risk patients (those with a history, etc).

    In the example www.google.com:
    
    www is the hostname.
    google is the domain name.
    com is the top-level domain name.
    
    You can have all kinds of variations on this same pattern, but ultimately it comes down to a SINGLE domain name registered to a SINGLE top-level domain name (usually denoting country of origin, or .net, .org, .edu, or even novelty ones like .space or .sex).
    
    The initial hostname portion can vary quite a bit.
    
    You can stick to the standard www, or you can have, say, mail.google.com, or books.google.com, etc.
    
    Or you can even leave it out altogether (as you see in niggasin.space).

    Nobody has the entire forum backed up.
    
    In fact, Panny has been on my ass about uploading the archive I have because it's, in all likelihood, the most comprehensive collection in existence at this point.
    
    I'm working on a dual-track project:
    1. Re-hosting all the text files from Totse (this archive is available out there in a Torrent or something like that).
    2. Hosting a bunch of the stuff I've archived from the forums.
    
    Of course, it will be kinda skewed towards what I found especially interesting or personally relevant, so I don't want people to get their hopes up all that much.
    
    But it does include a few thousand notable (to me, at least) threads going back to about 2003/2004.
