You keep saying "there's no need" but again, this misses the point. It's not about needing to be born, it's about standing to gain more by birth than it costs one.
You are a moral monstrosity and have a robotic thinking style. -

2018-01-17 at 7:34 AM UTC in Regarding my sonWhat about the cost of bringing beings into existence? The risk you force unto then, those that will suffer, those that will regret having been born and will still suffer from death? There’s no need for this cost. Any level of harm is unacceptable.

2018-01-17 at 7:31 AM UTC in Regarding my sonHey, I had just gone through a prolonged period that culminated in drinking up to 5L of wine and 1.75L of brandy every 2 days, then checking myself into an ER and telling them I was having thoughts of suicide, and was emotionally volatile.
I never told anyone this before, but Lanny attempted to take advantage of my emotionally vulnerable state and was planning to molest me. -

Originally posted by Lanny "don't ever create life because it represents needs where none need to exist" is the same as saying "don't ever start a business because it represents costs where none need to exist". Yes the cost of a venture doesn't strictly need to exist, but the justification for a venture is not "it needs to be undertaken" but rather "it has potential for a good outcome", which is a criterion many, although not all, lives meet.
The unborn are unable to consent to that. It disrespects the autonomy if potential brings and since this is unable ru be remedied the ethical choice is to refrain from procreation.
You aren’t making the proper distinction between currently existing beings/lives and potentially existing ones. There are special circumstances due to the nature of birth.
The utility in your scenario goes to benefit those that currently exist. You haven’t shown a value to creating utility monsters at the guaranteed chance of suffering and death, whether there’s a necessity to doing so.
If I take philosophy classes out of personal interest and to boost my gpa I’m definitely going to get high beforehand. -

When did I or any anti-natalist deny the existence of positive utility? That isn't a response to what I stated, that you're gambling with the lives of others and creating needs where there previously were none at the cost of eventual guaranteed suffering and death.
Anti-natalism isn't about currently existing lives, it's about the ethics of bringing new lives into existence, you simpleton. -

I was doing 385 for about 5 reps at 150lbs before I quit due to severe depression. It's definitely possible. You're correct that it is uncommon. -

Humans are need machines and the creation of life creates needs where there were no needs to be met. It's incredible that so many people seem to be incapable of understanding this, blinded by their own animalistic biological instincts, and miss the fundamental problem of life. You create the risk of suffering simply to fulfill your own egotistical desires, treating human lives as means as opposed to ends in themselves. Creating life can never be done for the benefit of a child, because that has no needs prior to being brought into existence. -

and he certainly, after all the shit he did, could have returned my son's- MY FUCKING CHILD'S- ukulele.
you'd think he'd be decent and just spend the $20-25 to send a kid's ukulele back to their mother.
PoC, you stole a child's ukulele? This is hilarious. I would love to track down your gravestone one day and engrave this onto it.
