The unborn are unable to consent to that. It disrespects the autonomy if potential brings and since this is unable ru be remedied the ethical choice is to refrain from procreation.

You aren’t making the proper distinction between currently existing beings/lives and potentially existing ones. There are special circumstances due to the nature of birth.

The utility in your scenario goes to benefit those that currently exist. You haven’t shown a value to creating utility monsters at the guaranteed chance of suffering and death, whether there’s a necessity to doing so.

If I take philosophy classes out of personal interest and to boost my gpa I’m definitely going to get high beforehand.

LOL that made me think of this:

Although I do regret not accepting that beanie because my head's cold and I've been using a balaclava as a makeshift hat, like in the movie heat where they were wearing those rolled up ski masks.

Now you're talking about consent, that's a whole different ball game than "needs where no needs need to be". If you want to talk about the issue of consent for non-existent or hypothetical entities then we can, but let's be clear: this is not the argument we got before.

You aren’t making the proper distinction between currently existing beings/lives and potentially existing ones. There are special circumstances due to the nature of birth.

Where am I failing to make this distinction? A potential person stands to gain a life worth living by hazarding the risk of having one not worth living. Maybe they don't opt into this venture, but again, consent is a different issue.

The utility in your scenario goes to benefit those that currently exist. You haven’t shown a value to creating utility monsters at the guaranteed chance of suffering and death, whether there’s a necessity to doing so.

No, the benefit is to the being which will potentially have a life worth living. "Life worth living" by the classical utilitarian rubric here being one in which the inevitable level of suffering and pain of death is less than the fulfillment of that life. Parents or communities may also benefit but that's secondary. A life worth living is, definitionally, represents more utility than non-existence.

Hey, I had just gone through a prolonged period that culminated in drinking up to 5L of wine and 1.75L of brandy every 2 days, then checking myself into an ER and telling them I was having thoughts of suicide, and was emotionally volatile.

I never told anyone this before, but Lanny attempted to take advantage of my emotionally vulnerable state and was planning to molest me.

What about the cost of bringing beings into existence? The risk you force unto then, those that will suffer, those that will regret having been born and will still suffer from death? There’s no need for this cost. Any level of harm is unacceptable.
