Yes, it's fascinating, but some later sections can delve into pseudo-science/the paranormal, unwarranted speculation, and can be read merely for the interesting trip reports or skipped altogether, although, regardless of what's occurring, they do seem to be common experiences in his observation, so maybe they shouldn't be skipped after all. -

Not a good idea. Stanislav Grof, who conducted/supervises thousands of LSD therapy sessions before it became illegal, referred to psychedelics in general as non-specific general amplifiers, and I consider that a very good general description of one of their main qualities. You're more likely to have a bad trip. If you want to use it to help process/come to terms with what occurred, it would be best to wait until the grieving period is over.
If you foolishly do decide to go through with it, I hope you have a benzo on hand in case you need to abort it. -

Activities that before took up your time, internet (Oculus Rift has Virtual Desktop available), alcoholism (Drugs could synergize with the VR like no other), television and films (They can be viewed in the rift, in a virtual theater or with avatars of your friends sitting next to you, able to communicate), going outside (Far superior environments, what will eventually become an endless array of user created content, more beautiful, emotionally provocative, than the natural environments of man, mundane reality, could ever hope to achieve!). Nearly everything could be replaced by virtual reality!

Receiving it 3 months early doesn't matter to you? And the Best Buy technique is/was so easy. There may be other sites that allow the same technique to be exploited.
Think about all the (cumulative utility) lost, being among the first to receive it. When have you been one for patience and delayed gratification?
I don't know if it still works on Best Buy or if they're out of stock. I read that Asus agreed to sell their PC at a discount as part of a bundle. You could likely easily sell it if this technique is no longer viable or you can't find an alternative site.
