if you can make a program that shows were an extra ten dollars a person will go, you can reverse engineer that and show where my previous ten dollars went.

I asked a question. I didn't say the word consequences. question answered with two questions.

Yes I think they would if that legitimately happened…though skepticism would be rife that the money would be used for that.

yes it would be nice if we could get a document with our tax returns that show EXACTLY where all of our monies went to. That would be quite interesting and probably make a lot of people upset.

    "probably"

It is curious that a person would even have to think twice about it. literally saving 1000 lives or getting a blowjob. Hmmmm. It feels like it should be an easy answer. I guess that's just the HUMAN CONDITION. nothing much matters unless it affects us personally.

I think Im trying to make a point I just don't know what it is, as usual.
  7. mmQ Lisa Turtle
the 1000 in question are completely randomly chosen but one of them will be someone you know personally that isn't a big deal to you but you do know them. like I said. Maybe its just a work colleague that you talk to now and then and find them enjoyable to have around but you never talk to them outside of the office.

I think the point is though if you pay more you should get more services for that $5 or an explanation why your taxes have increased…the obvious answer being inflation.

    oooh like a trolly scenario.

would you rather pay 10 more dollars a year in taxes to save 1000 lives or pay 10 more dollars a year in taxes and those lives wouldn't be saved but you would get a nice proper blowjob on December 31st.

There are obviously a lot of people that would choose the blowjob. genuinely. I suppose that will never change, and maybe it even makes sense, maybe its the right choice. Or could it be the wrong choice? Does it matter one way or another? If one of the thousand people that will die, will absolutely be someone the person knows but is not significantly attached to, would they still choose the blowjob? Like your cousin who you don't talk to very often but you knew them growing up and know they have kids and they're a decent human being, would you take the blowjob or just have them die? Does it REALLY matter if they die?

I suppose when you say enough loony bin stuff, you can also deflect to that. Kind of an "i wasn't serious I'm just trolling" meme thing.

I don't know anymore. I wonder why I even talk about anything ever. Does it even matter? no. probably not. its all just a form of entertainment right?

or maybe I talk purely in logical fallacies when I think I'm making good points. I try to approach things in a simple-minded aspect, like how a little kid would ask or think about something.

"If we don't care about the long-term aspects of anything we do, why do we throw our garbage away?"

I think people tend to overlook the fragility of life on Earth and how it can change suddenly, an asteroid here, a supernova there, a massive solar flare, a gamma ray burst etc…

Then there is the scale factor…is 8 billion people having their A/C running 24/7 really enough of an influence to change the climate SIGNIFICANTLY? …it's like suggesting an ant hill significantly changes a cow field because there are 200,000 ants in it shitting pissing farting and stomping around in the field…the only time the ants are noticed is when the farmer stands on the anthill and gets them running up his leg.

Then isn't a person having to pay 5 dollars more a year in taxes, also not a big deal? Why do people complain about that? who gives a fuck?

so he wouldn't flush his hole? I'm just not understanding the 'I don't flush' thing when he isn't using a toilet that could be flushed to begin with. Or was that his point? It's better to shit into the ground instead of using flush toilets.

When I ask the HARD HITTING questions like that, they get avoided with humor responses :)

I'll just keep asking it until obbe or spectral or speedy or Vinny give a serious reply to it.

I specifically want to know why spectral doesn't litter every chance he gets.

He'll probably tell me that he does.

Again same with voting…every vote counts even if you don't think it does…if no one voted or no one paid taxes we'd be in shit street, Tennessee wouldn't we.

Caring about how your tax money is spent is reflected in how you might vote…and then multiple that by 150 million voters (or however many are eligible to vote) you have your answer why it matters.

Ok that makes sense, but why then would these people poo-poo other matters under the same context? I am using climate change as an example. Why does person A get all in a big tizzy about taxes that have really never impacted their life in any significant way whatsoever, but then laugh at the person saying we should do our little part to help not alter the climate in a negative way?

Is it just emotions? Just picking and choosing what to care about?

Why should I take a person seriously who says one thing is a huge deal and the other thing isn't a big deal at all?

Why don't we all just conclude that it doesn't matter? Why do we care about anything, mannnnnnnnn?

what the fuck am I talking about I think I ate a big mushroom
  16. mmQ Lisa Turtle
But really, why don't we all just do that? Litter every chance we get. Throw your silly little wrapper out of the car window. Why not?

Lol I have not. I'm a simple man, Jiggaboo. I think Terminator 2 is the best Terminator.

Is it not a fair comparison though? Why do people care about their taxes when it's such a tiny little thing overall? Like why do people care about North Korea? Why do people care about "all these illegals coming over our borders and stealing our jobs!!!" Why does a person that has worked a cushy job their whole life, everyone they know has worked a cushy job their whole life, seemingly in a mad HUFF about illegals taking all of our jobs?

Just like your singular vote doesn't make a difference…as part of the whole voting base it does. THE tax payer refers to the sum, not the individual.

Could that be applied to humans and climate change? One person isn't going to affect the climate but 8 billion people together might slowly alter it?

I was just thinking, why don't we all just litter? Why don't we all just take our garbage bins and dump them into the street?
