2015-10-10 at 7:47 PM UTC in Would you call the cops on a shitfaced driver ?I would. Like I'm not one of those people who will flip shit if someone has one beer and wants to drive home at 10 at night or something but you're probably doing someone a favor if they're shitfaced and getting in a car by calling the cops. A DUI is still better than being dead.

Yeah, 27! Average is terrible, you only scored one point above it. How would you feel if you scored average on an IQ test, or the SAT or ACT, GREs, possibly some of your other tests in college depending on what the average is. Although, this is somewhat different, I don't know what the standard deviation is and it could be much lower. No, I'm pretty sure most autistics would score well below average, difficulty in gauging emotions, "reading" people/body language, is well established. Stop fooling yourself.
Yeah, except for the fact that "emotional intelligence" is about as much of an accomplishment as "best masturbator in the tristate area", a pretend metric created to console people who drew the short straw and are shit at everything that matters. "Classical intelligence" isn't the only worthwhile human attribute by a long shot, but it's not company to "hehe, I can read expressions, I'm so cool". Multiple intelligence is a long running fraud to prop up the lie of talent-equality that seems to be a fetish of western education systems.Oh, where are you getting your 2-FMA and 4-FA from now? Did you buy from tic-research (till.i.come@riseup.net) initially and how much did you buy? I really wish I had pooled my money with you so I could have gotten 2.5 times the 2-FMA and 4-FA, at only $5 a gram. I'm not sure if he's going to vend again after his supplier defrauded him of around 10K IIRC, really a shame. Also may have forgotten to mention that I saw a reputable darknet vendor on a Grams search that sold etizolam for significantly lower prices that purposechem for the quantities you were interested in, although purposechem was out of stock, so you may have purchased from someone else, although the savings may not be that significant an issue at your income, which is good.
I did do that order from tic, ended up buying 10 grams, don't remember what I paid. I ended up going through by-industries for my recent order, since he started doing limited registration the prices have been better and I've never had an issue with communication or bad product. Etizolam was actually the same price as purposechem at the volume I was buying and he also had 4-AcO-DMT which you got me interested in so I figured it was worth something to not have to bother with two separate orders. -

No genuine reference for that period and if he was able to find your future employers and contact them you may have never had a job in the field again. Serious breach of professional conduct. Particularly for your pay levels, for sectors like finance and other high income areas.
This was the job I had in college so I could have gotten by without the reference. As for them trying to hunt down future employers, it seems unlikely they would and even if they did I had a contingency plan.Reminds me of the things you've posted about your behavior when younger. Those innate factors have a strong biological basis and rarely fully change. It would be hilarious to see you rage because I think you're too much of a pussy to do in anything but an indirect or passive aggressive manner.
What behavior when I was younger? In this case I might have actually done it since, like I said, I had a feasible exit strategy but it's true I almost never get angry enough to do something I fully expect to end in a net loss. I have family members who will fly off the handle sometimes, I've seen them royally fuck themselves over out of spite for some perceived offense (I may have told the story of my grandfather who fired his entire staff because they had the staff sing him happy birthday at a restaurant when he told them not to). In some sense you've got to respect people like that for being authentic, sticking to their guns and all that but in the end life is long and you've got to play the numbers if you want to come out on top. -

You absentee elitist son of a bitch. Are we not good enough for you? Too busy to skim and ignore posts that aren't interesting or relevant to you? Is that why you haven't been responding to me? BTW, I mentioned this before, but the go to new post option may not work properly, it regularly takes me to the last post made, so be sure not to miss posts due to this.
Nah, my mom was in town for a week so that took up time on its own and then I figured it would be better to avoid the "what site is that?", "oh, that's just the forum where I pretended to be a girl for a couple of years, populated by addicts and the mentally unstable" conversation. Then I just got busy as work, extra hours and when I got home I just wanted to shutdown and do some passive consumption.Anyway, have you used any new nootropics? Not necessarily strictly cognitive enhancers, anything that significantly enhances biological function in general.
Nothing in particular. Still on my psychedelics kick, excited to try that AcO-DMT. Not really a nootropic but this might be up your alley, lately I've been leaving the lights off when at home. Even at night there's enough ambient light to get around and I obviously know the layout so I could do it blind with a little work. I find it has a strange mood brightening effect, things just seem softer and more pleasant. Obviously reading a book or cooking isn't really feasible in the dark but you'd be surprised at how much is. I've heard that low lighting improves creative cognition but it may well just be an old wives tale or something, all I know is that it's subjectively pleasant.Found this on r/sociopath: What do you score on the "Reading emotions through the eyes" test?
http://socialintelligence.labinthewild.org/
What am I? I'm not joking about how reclusive I've become, I've only been stepping foot outside once or twice a month, haven't even had conversation in one or two years. I don't even speak to people much online, I've never spoken to someone on webcam or even through voice, and don't even spend nearly as much time as most people viewing things that show real people on video (TV, films). I've always been extremely introverted and asocial to begin with. And I'm supposed to be autistic as well.
Just giving the background to give an idea of what a massive disadvantage in social experience and skills I should have. Am I just so aware/perceptive and skilled at logical analysis, such an extreme systemizer, that I can compensate through pure rational analysis rather than depending largely on innate biological intuition?
There were a few I hesitated on, felt uncertain about and changed from my initial answer because something didn't quite seem to fit, and those may have been the ones I answered incorrectly. I remember hearing long ago in school, but didn't verify, that in situations like these you should go with your initial response because it may have been found that it's much more likely to be correct. From fragments of memory of test taking experience, I think this is likely generally the case for me. Another factor is that with training/social experience my score would be bound to improve. Neat perfect accuracy could well be within my reach if I made the effort and some of my deficits/disorders were attenuated.
Very strange result, but I've known, or rather have theorized, that I'm extremely atypical in many ways since some time ago.
Although,
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Empathy#Affective_and_cognitive_empathy
I bet Lanny tanks this test. Computer science major! Think of how embarrassing it's going to be if you score substantially lower than a hardcore ultra-autist like me. Don't you dare lie to me, I demand accurate data points.
I scored 27. I don't think the test is all that meaningful if both of us scored above average. Besides, I bet most autists would do well or at least average, the test measures your ability to identify emotions not your ability to act appropriately on them. We can imagine a lot of explanations for the symptoms of autism that don't rely on a significant inability to gauge emotion in others. -

Noooooooooo! Fuck, they got 2-fma and 4-fa! Fucking cunts, I fucking swear, I hope one day someone bombs their headquarters!
Oh wait, does this mean we could get huge discounts from fire sales?
Lanny, please, you're relatively wealthy, I've even thought about referring to you as moneybags a few times, stock up, buy in bulk and then part it out to us! Become our drug lord and savior!
Thought about it but circle has like a 300 USD per week transaction limit. Instead I picked up 3 grams of etiz and a little AL-LAD and 4-AcO-DMT. When the transaction limit resets I'll probably pick up a little more etiz and then probably some 2-FMA. I think I posted a while ago about a good mix with 4-FMA being really euphoric but it's not very functional and seems to be harder on the system in terms of blood pressure than just about anything else I've tried in a stimulant. -
2015-10-10 at 2:53 AM UTC in Rage QuitAlmost, my boss tried to pull some bullshit at my last job (basically changing my job description to "does whatever the fuck I(boss) say" which meant shit a secretary should be doing (inb4 blowjob joke)) and I said I'd quit if he did. I was ready to go change all the passwords and microwave my workstation's hard drive but he changed his mind when I threatened to leave. Guess I don't get cool points for actually quitting but then it probably would have been kinda childish if I had.

Guns don't cause crime, brown people do.
Hah, says the guy who can't hear mention of a nordic country without rushing in with "BUT THE CONFOUNDING VARIABLES YOU FOOL!". The one sourced/readable chart you posted mixes developed and undeveloped countries as well as giving exactly zero consideration to availability of mental healthcare which is also a critical point here. They are not anecdotes, every one has a link to the news source when it was reported.
Lol, just because it's in the news somewhere doesn't make it any less of an anecdote.Dismissing actual events as anecdotes is a sure sign that you have no substantial counter point. The facts and statistics show the more armed the populace is the lower the rate violence.
No, actually, the graph posted from a clearly biased pro-gun website in this very thread demonstrates that's simply not true. But gun control wingnuts ignore the facts and attack the person reporting them. Nice strawman Lan Lan.
You still haven't learned what that word means apparently.

Let's look at gun availability. In this incident the vast majority of those present were unarmed dye to gun control (gun free zone) laws. However the criminal, not a ring about the law shot 11 or 13 or whatever the number dead.
That is one story sensationalized by the media which every is being manipulated by. Here are ten stories where a single person who was legally carrying prevented a similar tragedy.

He hasn't but you're saying that to argue stricter gun control you must accept the assumption that it actually does what you say and decreases gun violence. Or did i misunderstand it when you said:
you don't accept that premise
BUT that's still the point you need to attack
Yeah, I think there's a misunderstanding here. I'm not saying you have to accept the notion that gun control reduces gun violence, I'm saying that if you want to write these shootings off as simply isolated, inevitable, incidents then rejecting that assumption is exactly what you have to do. In other words, there's an intermediary step. One can not simply say "there is no organized league of school shooters, ergo these crimes have nothing to do with each other" since that's not the position anyone arguing for gun control holds, it's that high gun availability and low mental healthcare availability are common causal influences in all these shootings, thus they are no mere statistical noise but an indication of a common phenomenon. If OP wants to wade into the issue of whether or not it's true that high gun/low mental healthcare availability are factors then fine but he seems to be trying to avoid this avenue in preference of shaming the media or something. -
2015-10-08 at 5:43 AM UTC in Dear America
Lolwut.
Lan:"My argument is based on assumption X"
Sophie:"Assumption X is wrong."
Lan:"that's still the point you need to attack if you want to knock down the liberal argument!!!"
Does not compute.
Where has OP challenged the idea that stricter gun control would lead to lower rates of gun violence? -

Its a fact that these shootings ARE isolated incidents. I don't think these guys attended a meeting before columbine and thought "Okay, evey year or so one of us is gonna go batshit crazy and shoot up a school. Sound like a plan?". No it happens because individuals of weak mental constitution exist in society. And a fraction of a decimal of those individuals are so messed up that they decide it jolly right to go shoot up their peers.
No one has suggested it's anything different than that. The fact remains that advocates of gun control and greater mental healthcare availability argue that these crimes, or at least the severity to which they are committed, are enabled by bad policy. If you accept the liberal premise that lower rates of gun ownership leads to lower rates of crime then these crimes are obviously related in that they are enabled/worsened by a common policy point. Obviously you don't accept that premise, BUT that's still the point you need to attack if you want to knock down the liberal argument here which you've so far sidestepped. Now they can say banning assault weapons makes the world a safer place but that simply is not true, more murders are committed by handgun than any other type of firearm.
What simply isn't true is the idea that something needs to be the leading cause of murder for it's ban to reduce the rate of murder. It is, in fact, obviously not the case. Death by snake bite is pretty rare on the whole but that doesn't change the fact that if there were no more snakes there would be no more deaths from snake bites. You'll have to come up with a better argument than "X isn't literally the worst thing ever" to justify X.Now I know the following is a heartless point that will offend your meager liberal sensibilities but it is true. These things happen. There will always be people of weak mental constitution. There will always be a fraction of a decimal that end up going on an insane rampage regardless of availability of arms or not. Look at China's meat cleaver bus mass murders. Or kids who bring knives to school in countries where guns are not readily available. These are essentially the same phenomenon with a different weapon. And they happen at a similar rate as it does in America.
If you want that point to work you'll both have to demonstrate that non-gun mass killings happen with the same relative frequency in other countries as gun related mass killings in the US AND that gunless mass killings have comparable death tools. I'm skeptical on both points.
The only way for these things to never happen again is to have a mental health system that can screen out these individuals which is damn near impossible unless you live in an insane statist dystopia that has rigorous and invasive mental health screens daily. Now I am not saying that mental health care is pointless. I am saying that the system needed to end things like this from happening is not possible. It would definitly be possible to improve our mental health care and get these individuals the help they need without stigmatizing them for wanting to go on a murderous rampage but that would require they tell someone about it and most of the individuals who carry out these attacks are extremely socially isolated individals. On the point of "Americas loos gun control" all I should have to say is SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.
No, you should have to say more than that because most of us have realized that the US constitution is not some artifact of divine wisdom. The constitution has been altered before and we can change it again if we happen to find the edicts of niggers who lived 200 years ago don't suit the needs of a people living in the 21st century. The problem is that we are centering on these things as if they are issues we can fix. As if they are issues we can rid society of. But violence is an integral part of the human condition. And society is human meaning that violence is an integral condition of society. There are individuals who will be violent shitheads and do things like this. So why give them the time of day? Why publicize them and give them fame? Why not say "Sure, you may make this terrible horrible decision, but your name will never be known, your victims will be honored and remembered and you only serve as an agent to destruction by making the commitment" Why not shift the focus off these incidents which cannot reasonably be controlled and dedicate the time and energy we usually focus on them to a constructive and realistic end.
I assume you're a capitalist, right? Truly you'd be hard pressed to find a more perfect apparatus of capitalism than the news media. People will watch/read/listen to these stories and that's why the media produces them. So that's why we focus on these incidents. Do you have a problem with that? Do you perhaps think you know better than the general public what should be on TV, in the news, on our air waves? If so you might be a liberal. There will never be a perfect society. There will always be violent degenerates. No matter how many social programs you have, no matter how strict your gun or blade or chemical regulations, no matter how many times you say "Tragedy like this shouldnt happen", no matter how extensive and invasive your mental heath screenings are, it wont change the fact that society is packed full of violent degenerates and always will be.
Sure, but you could say the same thing about literally any policy aimed at upholding law and order. A police force will never be 100% effective but that doesn't mean we should totally give up on trying to make the streets safe or investigating crimes. "Why try to stop bank robberies, they're inevitable! Just open the vault doors and let anyone grab what they want!" -
