That's true, it proves my point. American "left" ideas about political correctness have set the terms for discourse for long enough to enable Trump's presidency. A left-of-american-center group formed the rules about acceptable opinions to be held in public and eventually this approach alienated enough people that we produced trump. My point is the rules that group set do near as much to silence and alienate the "far left" as the group that constituted Trump's support in the election.
While the alt-right has been crying about how unpopular their opinions are they fail to realize that there hasn't been a truly anti-corporate, pro-population control, or even really pro-labor candidate on the ballot for, uhhh, well at least as long as I've been alive. My point is you're always crying about media bias but you don't realize it's biased you as well, the opinions expressed in MurdockNetmainstream media or your family's facebook feed do not span the domain of leftist thought by a long shot.

Leftism has a long and proud intellectual tradition, significantly predating the term itself. If your engagement in politics is dipshits loud and dumb enough to advertise their hardon over some bullshit sensationalized incident on facebook then it's no wonder you people think leftists are dumb. We won the cultural war, one of the few dogmas the alt right clings to that's actually true is that the political correctness largely spawned by my faction has dominated public discourse in the last decade. This means most of those who are loud and public toe that line, when Wolf Blitzer says something stupid it's broadcast by default. When someone talks about, say, eugenics, no matter where they sit on the political spectrum (indeed both the far right and left are at least willing to entertain the notion, a fact that surprises many) they're basically silenced. You don't hear about ideas from the far left for the same reasons you don't hear from the far right, it's unpopular and accordingly swept under the rug.
Your notion of the "model leftist" is as skewed, ridiculous, as the idea that absolutely everyone who voted to trump is a klansman.
