2015-09-20 at 7:17 PM UTC in October 1st Liability Shift FraudIf your CC company hasn't sent you a card with the chip inside of it by October 1st, you put on a good disguise, drive out to retail stores, park a distance away off camera, go in and buy things using your card, and then later report that some asshole must have skimmed your card, your bank will have to reimburse you for those charges.
From what I have read, the liability falls on whoever has the oldest technology. Either banks not issuing cards with chips inside of them, or the store not having a chip reader.
Edit: This liability shift wont work with ATMs until 2016 or so.
My question, is this also true with debit cards, or is it a credit card only type of deal? -
2015-09-20 at 7:08 PM UTC in Do you use an IDE, if so, which one?
I chose my vim setup for a number of reasons. The primary one is that at some point I had internalized the vim keybinds enough that I can't type as fast on anything else and I expect to die that way.
It appears to me, that being able to type fast and 'only use the keyboard', is the choice of professionals. I made a thread about this on either Zoklet or RDFRN, asking if I should try to stop using my mouse.
I've never used VIM, but I think if I tried anything else, that would be the first thing I looked at. -

But it doesn't show them as logged in on the "WHO'S ONLINE" page. -

2015-09-03 at 6:50 AM UTC in Help my recover the data on my 64GB flash driveI have a 64GB Lexar flash drive and I store basically files that I download and install on my PCs. I have another backup on a 32GB flash drive but it got filled up and this was the main one with the newer stuff. I must have no dismounted it fully before unplugging it. I get this error message but I haven't really tried anything with it yet.
Error mounting /dev/sdd1 at /media/user/a: Command-line `mount -t "ntfs" -o "uhelper=udisks2,nodev,nosuid,uid=1000,gid=1000,dmask=0077,fmask=0177" "/dev/sdd1" "/media/user/a"' exited with non-zero exit status 13: $MFTMirr does not match $MFT (record 0).
Failed to mount '/dev/sdd1': Input/output error
NTFS is either inconsistent, or there is a hardware fault, or it's a
SoftRAID/FakeRAID hardware. In the first case run chkdsk /f on Windows
then reboot into Windows twice. The usage of the /f parameter is very
important! If the device is a SoftRAID/FakeRAID then first activate
it and mount a different device under the /dev/mapper/ directory, (e.g.
/dev/mapper/nvidia_eahaabcc1). Please see the 'dmraid' documentation
for more details.
What can I do? -
2015-09-02 at 8:43 PM UTC in I need a public FTP server that i can use to host some files.I signed up for Angelfire accounts way back in the day(10+ years ago) and I get like 20GB of storage space. I also get free access to the advanced editor that usually costs money.
How much space do you need and how open will people be downloading files?
There are alternatives. I had an idea a while back for storing things online, and then a program would collect them and put the file together. I'll explain when I am at home. -
2015-09-02 at 7:27 AM UTC in Wrong amount of folks onlineI've noticed that the main forum page says that there are like a hundred members online and several hundred non-members, but when I click the "WHO'S ONLINE" button, it says there are like four members online.
Why is this? -
