With the type I mentioned, in 16th/17th century England, they believed that the babies were still normal (since the sperm is from a human body) so they'd let a suspected succubus carry the baby to term then kill her because she was possessed. The sex was believed to be soul damaging through the stealing of your semen. I don't know if women got their souls damaged by incubus tho -

Sometimes they believed. Frankly I think the idea of witches is one of the LEAST ridiculous things people believed in back then. Like apparently if an incubus cums in you, the cum will be cold. Nuns would be burnt for sleeping with incubi, which was almost certainly a cover for rape. Also incubi and succubi were more like zombies than ghosts. You can always tell if you were raped by a zombie by a spot of phlegm on your chest in the morning.
They thought those consorting with demons or spirits could do shit like control the weather. Astrology was evil. And you did NOT want to have any sort of circle or triangle on your floor.
People always mention the witches but they forget about necromancers who were also burned at the stake. Women were considered weaker than men and thus more prone to witchcraft or necromancy.
Names or imagery of a living person was never put into wax or clay as they thought witches could use it to put a curse on you like a voodoo doll. This included recruiting you into their witchcraft so a lot of potters got accused of being witches.
The reason they killed witches or possessed people is because they thought it was impossible to get rid of that curse.
Also witches can go through closed doors and turn into animals. And if you have even a tiny gap in your house, they can turn into a mist and go through that.
Werewolves were people who actually turned into normal looking wolves.
Some spirits like evdaimonia and chachodaimona would appear to you as angels but lie and tell you devilry. Which is kinda lulz. There was debate over whether or not holy spirits would contact people in this way.
They thought this shit was getting WORSE because of man's increased sinning. So like, if you were caught, idk, drinking too much, some people might get mad because you are sinning and plaguing everyone with all sorts of supernatural shit. It was YOUR fault there were witches running around.
I could go on honestly they were so fucking crazy -
