There is no "bidding". I don't give a shit if you post there or not, and you haven't since asking.

What is even the point of the thread? If we all said "Yeah, fuck off" you're just going to stay to piss us off, if any of us say "You should stay" you'll stay.

What happened to "One thread a day"

It's one of those things I never really fucked with because of all the horror stories you hear about losing all braking power when the flare gets fucked up, but I'd say all in all I did a pretty good job. No leaks at all that I can detect, and I had time today to actually bleed them and it's better than it's ever been as far as braking power. I think when I finally get around to doing the rear driver's side brake line and bleed them at the caliper they'll be top notch.

As a bonus, I was forced to buy a flaring tool instead of borrowing one from my boss, so I'll never have to worry about it again, just figuring out the correct size fittings if the old ones are fucked, which if you cut the line at the fitting and use a 6 point it's really hard to actually fuck them up.

Yeah, don't listen to us. I only had an outlet start on fire because the cord wasn't rated for the heater I had plugged into it. Didn't know until the next day when I had no power to half the house.

Originally posted by stl1 I recommend you plug that electric heater into a 20 amp outlet. A 20 amp outlet can be differentiated from a 15 amp outlet by the 90 degree "bar" that comes from one of the parallel outlets.

A circuit breaker circuit will only carry 80-85% of the stated load for a continuous period. A 1500 watt heater will draw 12.5 amps (without counting the fan draw). 85% of 15 amps is 12.75 amps.

I think it's 1500 including the fan draw. It's like a thing they have to follow. I certainly could be wrong though.

OTOH no paint to scratch, which is awesome.

They broke two windows with heavy steel balls at the launch, while trying to show off how unbreakable the windows were. Apparently it worked in rehearsal.

The 20-pound exchange tanks at convenience stores and supermarkets aren't even filled up all the way, they under-fill them to make more money / not have to raise prices when propane goes up.

Portable propane heaters consume the oxygen from your space and at the least load the air up with co2 and water vapour which does not make for the most comfortable environment. They also get extremely hot so they are a fire risk.

So just STFU, put ur thermostat on 60 degrees, post nude selfys of chelly , have them average your electric bill and put on a sweater you atomic piss head.

I've noticed he goes on spurts too. Like, one day he'd make 6 threads about Wariat, the next he'd bump those all day with "Folks? Folkkss? Folkssss?" and only make 2 threads about CandyRein.

Originally posted by Lanny This has been suggested before. In terms of the concept I don't mind it as an option. The two issues as I see it are:

    - It has to be opt-out to be useful. But that also makes it abusable-by-default. The two ways to do opt-out are mention target full opt-out which means people are going to be crying to me when someone tags them in every shitpost because they have a binary on/off toggle or user-to-user mentioner opt out kind of like "blocking" (e.g. I don't want speckles to be able to flood my notifications with mentions so I go add him to my block list) which in terms of implementation is significantly more work for the server, more effort to code, more effort to maintain and a less intuitive user experience no matter which way you look at it which is an issue because we live in a world where people still PM me because they don't know how to resize images for avatars.

    - The implementation is inherently expensive and a pain in the neck. Right now when someone makes a post we basically just throw it in the database. That's nice. That's fast. That's one query. We don't even need a transaction for it. If we potentially need to send out notifications on every new post then it means to need to parse posts when we get them, we need to do a query for every user mentioned to determine if they exist or not, we need to do at least one more query per notification to be sent out. Then reasonably we need to open a transaction to do all this because there are race conditions like "mention target spawns/disappears/blocks/unblocks while this is happening". Then if we go the "@-mention" route we either need to do this process again during post rendering or create shitty heavy new JS to support mention-by-pk in a way that's half way usable. This is all a big performance hit and requires parse-time restrictions to keep it from being a DoS vector.

The whole thing is complicated and expensive and probably costs a lot more than it's worth. If someone really wants to do it I'd consider quote only notifications with mention-target binary opt-out to be the best option since there's no read penalty and the UI isn't a total nightmare. But as it stands it's not something I'm super excited about.

Okay, but let's be honest, how much server load can 12 people mentioning eachother back and forth really create?

Um, no. You sent me a PM that I looked at this morning. You asked if you could "Put ads in your threads" to which I never gave a hard answer. I believe my response was "You can add an image to your signature and up to 5 links".

EDIT: Just to reiterate, I'm not giving you shit. It's a feature that everybody there can use. No need to lie to everyone.

Good to know for future reference. WellHung's threads are absolutely spam. It's just "X user is Y because Z - Folks?" 60 times a day. It's not even different people, it's usually CandyRein or Wariat.

Have fun with your $560 electric bill. Space heaters ARE NOT ENERGY EFFICIENT. I'm not sure how many of us have to tell you this shit.

By the way: Don't plug a fucking space heater into an extension cord. Your renters insurance isn't going to cover shit when they realize you were doing things you aren't supposed to.
