The parts of twitter I'm on are basically just forums though. Pretty much everyone is pseudonymous, and it's great. Reminds me a lot of old school (expert subforum) totse, but there's no nazi mods like meta or speckles crying about how much work it is banning people - just insightful people self-organizing and quietly blocking each other until a fairly uniform and inscrutable community emerged from the chaos. Very nice. Anonymity is vital in this context, and I suspect this is a more common use case for social media than you believe. While this is undeniably a niche, there are definitely similarly niche corners of twitter that are all functioning as the modern equivalent to ye olde forums.The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire! -
