It's the Japanese version of Untergang, Downfall, the film with Hitler in the Bunker. It's not as dramatic, as the Japanese surrendered with the Imperial Palace and most of the important ministries strangely intact (America didn't nuclear bomb Tokyo, but they did firebomb it, which was nearly as bad).
It's OK. It's mostly about how strange Japanese are, and how some people don't know when they are beat - even after two atomic bombs and the Soviet Union declaring war on them, some Japanese soldiers want to fight on and try to stage a coup-d'etat. They want the Americans to invade Japan and to fight them every step of the way.
Even with the atomic bomb, the plan was for the Americans to invade Japan. If it had happened it would have been unbelievably bloody. My Grandad's Sister's Husband, which I think makes him my Great Uncle, was an RAF mechanic and pretty cool dude and one of the poor goyim who were supposed to invade Japan. He credited the nuclear bomb with saving his life.
It's always interesting watching a losing side try to deal with defeat and the end of their reign. A real Gotterdammerung - the twilight of the Gods. The Japanese have to become America's bitch, and they know that, and their whole society is coming to a close. Just like in Germany lots of suicides - many commit seppuku or shoot themselves.

I want to go on an overnight hike. I'll probably do the Westport to Achill trail by foot again. Or I might do a canal walk. We have some canals in Ireland, and they go on for ages.
I'm thinking of camping out the first night, then finding a hotel, then camping again. It's quite good to get a hotel as you can do stuff like dry out your tent, recharge batteries, re-pack your stuff, shower and wash your clothes (generally in the sink/shower), etc. All the stuff you need running water and mains electricity to do.
