But those aren't the only two possible scenarios - that's false dichotomy.
I'd rather this decision-making thing do everything in it's decison-making powers to ensure that we stay alive.
If it absolutely (LOGICALLY) has to hit the kill switch for the greater good, then I guess for it.

There are a LOT of derelicts and other unsavory characters at every turn.
But I like it.
It's not that far, nor much different (except the rural part), from the city I grew up in.
And, all in all, it is in the objectively best geographical region of the entire world: The Pacific North West (Vancouver, Vancouver Island, The Okanagan, Seattle, etc).
You ain't never lived right if you ain't been up in the North West Coast. -

To be honest, I've been mucking around with the chemistry involved in purifying street-bought stimulants, and it can be beneficial in a variety of ways. Believe it or not, a lot of the negative health effects of such drugs come from the stuff used to cut it.
I may even have a go at making it myself, and then purifying that.
It really does feel like a totally different high when you clean it right (anhydrous acetone, methanol-enhancement, acid-base extraction, etc).
Getting any stimulant prescribed is like winning the damn lottery. I just never expect it to happen.
I feel it's a better use of my time (and more fun, actually!) to learn how to make my own drugs. -

Yeah, technically you could argue that my job is intrinsically enjoyable insofar as it is something I can very easily tolerate.
See, I would still write software even if I wasn't getting paid. I have a lot of hobby projects. But they don't quite pay the bills.
Therefore, you have to find whatever overlapping space within that Venn diagram between "stuff you like to do" and "stuff you can get paid for".
I consider myself blessed and genuinely grateful in life that I have been able to find something with such a large overlap. -
