Well, to be fair, I've also been experimenting with different types of lighters.

I bought two Bernzomatic torches this week, each one like $50.

The first was manual (i.e. you have to ignite it with another lighter while it's "on").

The second was automatic (i.e. it has it's own ignition source - so much easier).

First off: Why I'm posting this here.

Let's say you have a tincture that is x milligrams of substance X, and you dissolve it in y milliliters of solvent Y.

Now, since solvent Y is lethal at doses above a certain threshold, the chemist then wants to dissolve solution XY into another solvent (Z) of z milliliters.

You want to be able to ensure that a randomly selected quantity of this liquid contains the expected amount (in milligrams) of substance X as per the substance x / solvent y ratio.

Is it physically (chemically) possible to accomplish this task?

And if so, how do you determine the right second solvent (Z)?

That does sound like a somewhat familiar phenomenon for me.

Indecisiveness can come from an unwillingness to accept risk.

Once you've raised the pros and the cons for both sides, it's just a matter of making a gut/intuitive judgment call on which side wins out.

But there's always that risk that you're wrong.

I'm not sure what the solution is.

All I know is, analysis paralysis can be a real time waster.

Sometimes it's prudent to just take the plunge, roll the dice, and pick a side and go all in.
