   I lost 100 pounds a couple years ago. It was a total life changer. Unfortunately, I let myself kinda lapse in the habits I worked so hard to forge and gained some of it back (close to half, sadly).
   
   It kinda crept up almost imperceptibly at first.
   
   But I know that I did it before and just have to rebuild those same habits to do it again.
   
   And this time I plan to more vigilantly monitor various metrics (weight was one I just completely stopped measuring after a while) to help avoid lapsing again.

   They also become smarter (lol, INB4 I, Robot references) over time, or at least better at differentiating between, say, your voice and the voice coming from the TV ad for Alexa (which can be a tad annoying at first, but it's not that big of a deal).

    They allow you to voice command all kinds of things... The possibilities are endless (especially if you develop your own using AWS services, etc).
    
    There are equivalents from Google and other providers I think, but I have an Amazon Alexa Echo Dot (it's called something like that).
    
    Right now, I use it to turn certain lights off and on when I go to bed or wake up, respectively.
    
    I'm working on some other uses at the moment as well.
