Is there a mechanical way to automate the removal of those match heads?

    Also, isn't Birch reduction better?

Or do folks prefer RP/I method over Birch if possible?

(Unethical)LPT: Just make it into a kink/S&M relationship and establish your dominance. Then tell her that her not meeting your friends and family is part of the kink play.

If she steps out of line, just choke her with your belt a bit until she submits.

Is there a Canadian equivalent being proposed?

    Woah, so according to yang2020.com:

Andrew proposes funding UBI by consolidating some welfare programs and implementing a Value-Added Tax (VAT) of 10%. Current welfare and social program beneficiaries would be given a choice between their current benefits or $1,000 cash unconditionally – most would prefer cash with no restriction.

A Value-Added Tax (VAT) is a tax on the production of goods or services a business produces. It is a fair tax and it makes it much harder for large corporations, who are experts at hiding profits and income, to avoid paying their fair share. A VAT is nothing new. 160 out of 193 countries in the world already have a Value-Added Tax or something similar, including all of Europe which has an average VAT of 20 percent.

So this would actually REPLACE welfare?

This does nothing for the truly down and trodden then...

The perpetually unemployed, mentally ill, drug/alcohol-addicted, disabled, etc, would actually only benefit marginally from this UBI, yet the richest billionaires in the nation would gain an additional $1000 a month?

    Am I reading/interpreting this wrong?

This might benefit the upper-middle-lower class types (and anything higher than that), but if you're truly at the bottom of the barrel, this is a shit hand.

Slumps are always followed by bouts of prosperity.

As someone kinda out of the loop on contemporary politics... can someone ELI5 to me how universal basic income works?

I mean, the money has to come from somewhere...

Does it mean less money goes to healthcare, police and other emergency services, etc?

Where is that national_population * 1000 dollars being diverted from?

One thing that caused me to spend a lot more in the long run on drugs, especially opiates, is that I refused to consider myself an addict (or even regular user) at first, so I never kept dealers numbers. When you change sources up on a weekly basis, and have no backup numbers to call, you pay desperate prices.

I think I used to pay anywhere between $10 and $20 (maybe even slightly more when desperate) for a single point of heroin.

I rarely bought it by the gram back then.

But yeah, $500 seems pretty damn steep.

I stopped using opiates of any kind long ago so I dunno what the current rates are.

Come to think of it, though, they might have been cheaper simply because I was buying them oxycontin. I just remember the ratio of $1/1mg being either average, or worst case scenario, expectations.

But it's been so long this could all be way off anyway.

I do remember my first experiences with oxycodone more generally were in 2005, in the form of percocets, because a close friend's mom seemed to have an ongoing prescription and we all tried a few of them from it, none of us, myself included (the resident drug expert at the time), knowing precisely what they were.

I think I actually ended up coming into Totse's BLTC and made a thread with pictures of one of the pills to get an ID.

    I straight up can't remember.

All I remember is that they were 80's, extended release (i.e. oxycontin), so I remember having to break past a pinkish covering and snort the insides.

It *might* have been about $1 per mg. I don't know though if I'm remembering that from back then, or from a dealer I had after that.

Oxycodone has always been expensive though.

SWIM (lol, like that even works anymore, but using it anyway for nostalgia's sake) just happens to know some local dealers really well who have yet to branch out to the tor markets.

Ideas are afloatin' in my head right now... Dollar signs popping up in my mind...

I also miss the days when I lived in Ottawa (Ontario), and there was a (perfectly legal - I think, or maybe via a loophole of some kind) poppy pod vendor that was somewhere nearby in the same province, and I would order a box of pods and get this huge box of opium pods in the mail like the next damn day.

    This was in 2007/2008.

    It was clear web, though.

But buying drugs online is always convenient (unless they pull an exit scam or some other bullshit, then it sucks).

There was no visual store online anywhere, you just ask him if he's got what you're looking for in stock, and he tells you if yes, and for how much.

I got oxycodone, ketamine, valium, etc in a little envelope in my mailbox.

    Those were the days.

Except the selection was way more limited, so, I guess these days things are better.

But I get nostalgic all the same.

Your hard drive was working at the time, and you could have sent your lawyer the fresh pics. Can't let these corrupt pigs get away with it. You have to sue. Their money is the only thing they respect, so that's where you have to hit them.

    My two main problems were:
    1) I wasn't thinking straight after that for weeks because of the concussion.
    2) Regarding the bolded part... I was pretty drunk when this all happened. I know for a fact I never swung a first blow at them. I just don't ever do that. I'm a lover, not a fighter. But it's five cops' words against some random drunk dude. It would have been a tough sell in court, I imagine.
