Not really. I talk with him about treating others with respect and the golden rule and all that. Guidance trumps exposure. Sitting a kid in front of things like that without giving them perspective, I think, is where problems can arise.
I'm not one of those dads that shames his kid for having an interest in video games. I like to play too, so it's something we do together. Honestly, he gets more angry and frustrated with Fortnite than he does anything else, and that game is cartoony as hell. He's really good at it, so he gets pissed off when he gets robbed. If he was left alone to deal with that on his own it would be one thing, but I'm there to keep him in check when he feels like throwing his controller through the damn TV.
I don't make the mistake of leaving him to deal with his emotions on his own. Talking your kids through their shit and not treating them like they're too young to understand solves a lot of problems.
He'll be 9 in a couple months. He's a good kid with a big heart. I couldn't have been luckier. -

And I was banned from indoors for that whole winter.

She has two kids ..
One night I went to her house and she was in complete distress .. like on the verge of a break down
Her kids were literally running wild and my best friend ‘Stevie’ looked so defeated
She literally starts throwing money at me saying Tara please help me with them and I could see the tears swelling in her eyes
I picked up all the money and I put it in her hand and said you kno you don’t have to pay me for anything
And I basically told them to sit the H, E double hockey sticks down and put a cork in it ..because they’re driving their mother up the dang wall
They actually listened and we just all ended up watching tv and chilling out

How did you find NIS?
I realize that you are aware that I am a Totse OG, but as a piece of remaining evidence (kinda archeological in a way), I post this screenshot from a post I made on Totse in 2005, with the same name I use to this day:
In terms of finding NIS in particular, I think it was via r/totse on Reddit one drunken night, nostalgic emotions overwhelming me, looking for any connection to that long lost (but not forgotten! though thoroughly missed!) cameraderie I had with a bunch of Internet folk.
As for you RisiR, unfortunately I can't match you to anyone specific from the Totse and/or Zoklet era, but you, too, have that same, unmistakable &T O.G. spirit.

You guys are not understanding that I'm not trying to speak languages by learning other languages, I am trying to build foundation to learn multiple languages. I'm really into the linguistic minutia between languages. Seeing how languages have evolved, split, and built off one another. It's interesting shit. Here's an example of how what I know now would help me learn.
I just translated 'Hello my name is §m£ÂgØL and I love watching lions on television' into Norwegian. Hei mitt navn er §m£ÂgØL, og jeg elsker å se på løver på tv
hei- Hi/hey/etc. Easy one.
mitt- Means 'my.' Spanish has 'mi' for this, which is not too big of a difference. Pronounced the same, just add a t.
navn- Means name. Similar to name. Same vowel pronunciation.
er- Means 'is' and is like a weird conjugated 'estar' in Spanish, which is 'to be' but conceptually very similar.
se- Means 'see' and is only one letter off. Rhymes with 'ver' in spanish.
tv- Obviously means tv but it is pronounced 'teva'. I don't think I need to explain how English helps me know what this is. I know English contributes the most borrowed words but there are many borrowed words between languages.
