Get on disability, post a gift card registry, set up a Gofundme, etc. Advertise yourself as a pregnant prostitute and cater to a very specific community of men who basically need to be cuckolding a whore-with-child to get off, which is a rather lucrative niche you might be eligible for. That, or two, get an abortion, ASAP.

2017-12-25 at 6:19 AM UTC in Ampache (self-hosted music streaming)I used Audiogalaxy in 2011 for the same reasons you stated about space and whatnot, and I really missed it after the buyout, so it's refreshing to see another piece of software with the same goal in mind. I do wonder whether they had any serious existential problems with the business model that may or may not have been addressed by more recent industry developments but from what I recall of that app, it was very smooth and easy to operate. I haven't tried Ampache yet but I don't think my Apple music membership will last through 2018, so I may give it a try. Do you need to have your computer open at home and connected to wifi in order to stream?

2017-12-17 at 9:09 PM UTC in What if what we think is consciousness is just a bunch of if/else statements?I've often wondered myself whether we enjoy a certain complexity only because of an intricately woven tapestry of interconnected phenomenal binaries, or whether it is more like a chorus of relatively complex individual pixels, but I think there's probably data to support many different conceptions of how consciousness is produced and many of these models could be at odds with one another.

Whether it's true or not, does it imply that NOT eating spicy food gives you an 86% chance of living longer? Or does it mean out of a bunch of spicy and non-spicy eaters, the non-spicy will always have a 0% chance of living longer and the spicy people will have at least 14%?
I'm probably overthinking it. Idk. Help me out here.
Suppose that, from your statement, we extract its most basic conditional statement: if a person eats spicy food daily, then they will live 14% longer. This is expressed more concisely in symbolic proofs as 'If A, then B.'
By negating both clauses of that statement, we yield the inverse: if a person does not eat spicy food daily, then they will not live 14% longer. Or: if not A, then not B.
So it really depends on the subject matter. The nice thing about rendering this problem in symbols is that it allows us to generalize it to just about any other similar circumstances: If I fuck OP's mom, then I will get a disease.
Now let's take the inverse of that statement: if I do not fuck OP's mom, then I will not get a disease. See the problem here? I can't know that I won't get a disease just because I didn't fuck your mother, because there are millions upon millions of other mothers in the world and they could all, in theory, be carrying transmittable diseases.
So, in observing the structure of this statement and its inverse, we establish the principle that the inverse of a true conditional proposition is not itself implicitly true. -

2017-12-14 at 11:59 PM UTC in Child abuseSo in most families with a narcissistic child, they develop as such in response to the praise of a narcissistic parent - in my family, this is not the case. Both of my parents have empathy and a sense of boundaries, which my sister seems to always have lacked - making her the anomaly. Thus, her disposition interacting with me had two faces: the social conscience that my parents have nurtured, and which they believe to be their only daughter; and a concealed persona, that of a torturer who coerces me to embrace her will through violence and threats. Our relationship now is very awkward, because I remember all of that awful stuff and yet she has such an effect on me that I impulsively consider her needs in spite of myself. Eventually, I draw a boundary somewhere, and she tries to abolish that boundary and, on a good day, it all just sort of ends like that and we are both more or less intact.

She wanted me out of the picture from an early age, and when it became clear she couldn't accomplish this goal she sought to dominate me physically and emotionally. Without being too specific, I will tell you that she enjoyed most the control she felt when she smothered me. Sometimes I got away, sometimes I lost bladder control and sprayed her with urine, and the rest of the time she decided that having a dead toddler to dispose of would be too much trouble. I don't remember a 'first' time for this, and I strongly suspect that it goes back to my infancy with pinching and nose-holding being more than 50% likely in my estimation. But it went on for 8-10 years before I was able to knock the bitch off of me.

Originally posted by Madman I'm not going to talk about it on here here but yeah child abuse and no role models. I think being abused as a child makes you a pathological (not sexual but maybe) masochist which opens you up for abuse later in life.
I wouldn't necessarily agree that this is a rule without exception but in tracing back why I am the way I find myself I have noticed that I tend to enable others' worst impulses. Being abused as a child created a sort of vacuum, where most people house their models of faith and belief but instead it's filled with violence and fear, but it also possesses the only authority I've ever responded to: thus I require the thing that harms me, and when deprived I feel unstable and forsaken The ontology plays itself out rather convincingly, but I am not certain if this is really how it all works.
Originally posted by Speedy Parker Lol, that's not abuse. That's sibling rivalry and well measured discipline.
The distinction between sibling rivalry and sibling abuse isn't always the clearest, but in my case, it was definitely abuse.
