it depends on the value of goods i can buy with btc.
but that's beside the point. orphaned coins play no role in setting the price of btc. at best, they might create the illusion of confidence in the currency, since you can't know that a wallet's private key has been lost.
btc it's unlikely to actually go to zero, but it can tank independent of the number of coins on the ledger. -

you got it back to front. the market cap is the market's price per coin times the number of coins in circulation. if the price goes to zero the market cap is zero. -

how does that work? those coins just no longer participate in the market. btc could drop to zero regardless of their existence on the ledger. they can't contribute to lowering the price, because they can't be sold, but they don't prevent the price lowering. -

from what I've been reading the driving response that triggers a fit isn't dependent on the intensity or brightness of the light
you could wire up one of those TV-b-Gone devices to an arduino, then sit in waiting rooms and bars alternately switching off the TV screens and giving patrons epileptic fits.
if it works, that is, otherwise you'll just be switching TVs off.
