Supposedly Hammertime was a convicted murderer doing hard time in Russia who got press-ganged into Wagner, quickly surrendered to the Ukrainians, then somehow wound up back in Russian custody. I never knew before, but the jedi Prigozhin (Yevgeny Viktorovich Prigozhin, one of Vladdy Daddy's stooges, and the owner of Wagner) has an entire VK group where he answers apparent questions, and basically talks shit.
Apparently he hated Hammertime like poison for some reason, and specifically demanded he be turned over by the Ukrainian authorities. Probably Hammertime undermined his thesis of prisoners finding redemption in combat or some bullshit.
I think Prigozhin personally ordered Hammertime be executed. The civil authorities will not be pleased by such a pre-emption of their authority. Generally the state maintains a monopoly on violence, and sledgehammer executions don't exactly convey legitimacy or respect for due process. I simply don't see Prigozhin or Vladdy Daddy getting away with this, though it will take years to play out, this was a big mistake.

people need to be taught to think like this again. systems of 'representation' that do not represent anyone can only exist when people can be goaded into doing things on the basis of vague, meaningless abstractions like party lines and ideologies.
it'd be far harder to mobilise populations against their own interests if people were able to ask 'how does this benefit me or the people I care about'.
