I usually go for Tito’s as king of the mid range, but Monopolowa is a $10 fifth and it’s pretty drinkable and mixes well. At that price point I really don’t think home enhancementing is going to be worth it even on a tight budget. Like if you’re that broke just go for the box wine

It’s interesting to think about but it’s hard to imagine anything that would satisfy common definitions of “life” that wouldn’t be perceptible. E.g. consumption of energy to preserve structure. I mean that’s not to say we could definitely immediately identify alien life through a telescope or whatever, just that if you imagine alien life that’s microscopic, or composed of gas, or anything else that would make it difficult for us to perceive, it’s hard to imagine that being “alive” without it having energy requirements, and the energy intake process being, at some level, observable. -

IDK mang, most people I talk to are convinced Elon is having a Kanye style breakdown and everything is imploding, the remainder think it's some kind of 12d chess shit. Probably somewhere in the middle. Every major tech company could probably cut 25% of its staff and come out ahead, and it's worth noting facebook just did a round of layoffs and no one is saying Zuckerberg needs to be hospitalized. Contractors in particular (the first round of cuts Musk made) are very _very_ cost ineffective and like a great example of one of those things that helps management look good but ultimately harms the health of a company. So at least on the staffing side I think Elon isn't just spazzing out. That said, he's taking one hell of a PR hit, and the recent observable mastadon traffic uptick suggest there are real consequences to that.
