   DF is autistic as hell but in a very different way than cracktorio. Like df is hardly even a game, it’s not so much about doing well (it’s not obvious what doing well even really means) as experiencing the insanity of the simulation. Factorio is about autistically planning out production on spreadsheets and taming the chaos of your poor decisions. DF’s chaos can’t be tamed and must be embraced, it’s like interactive dwarf fanfic generation. DFs creators have pretty explicitly stated as much.

    Like sure, the unrealistic beauty standard thing does cut both ways, but the idea that you can’t get a girl if you’re not up to some standard of physical attractiveness is just empirically false. My buddy in high school was really overweight and looked like a human chipmunk and that dude pulling girls left and right because he was funny/personable/sold weed. I was _salty_ about it at the time haha, but really you don’t have to be a model by any stretch and it was a good lesson to learn.
    
    And conversely I’ve known very good looking dudes who couldn’t get a date because they were socially awkward as hell. Honestly having a good sense of humor and being able to have a casual conversation is a better strategy for getting bitches than looks any day off the week.
