People love to put "code non-professionally" on surveys because there's this huge number of hobbyists who have a different job and just program for fun. It's true that such people exist but if you every break down the "code non-professionally" demographic you'll find the vast majority are novices that aren't anywhere near the low level of aptitude held by a typical professional. So the "non-professional 'coders'" thing is a pretty meaningless stat.
It's not that programming is some grand challenge on the elite can master. It's just that social forces (high salaries, increasing public respect, a deluge of non-profit organizations that try and drag people, kicking and screaming, into tech under the such pretense as "social mobility" or some vague moral imperative of "code literacy") induce a lot of people to read some tutorial, write a couple of lines mostly copy-pasted, and forever thereafter count themselves as non-professional coders.Individuals with superior cognition and systemizing skills are bound to be drawn to anarcho-capitalism at a higher rate. As a cognitive computer, you should be able to process the implications of this, although steam may come out of your robot ears. You should hatch a scheme to out any ancaps at work and then attempt to befriend them to see what an acap who is a functioning member of a society, capable of socializing, is like IRL.
Not sure about that bud. Seem to me like people working in, or aspiring to work in, a unregulated field with a wild-west mythos, a lot of VC money, and a lot of fragile ego are going to be more amenable to wold views that assign the 100% of the responsibility for their petty personal success to merit rather than incidental historical developments or structural forces. -

It was complete chaos here for about 20 minutes. I immediately left work and drove about 10 mins home and the roadways were crazy. Complete disregard for any traffic law whatsoever. People going 100+ in 45mph zones, running red lights, driving on the wrong side of the road - absolute chaos like nothing I've seen before. When I got home my family was huddled downstairs in the garage storage area (kinda underground) crying hysterically. I called 911 and they confirmed it was a mistake but we didn't get a txt msg confirming it was a mistake till about 30 minutes after the initial "THIS IS NOT A DRILL."

Oh, and confessions. A lot of people could have embarrassed the shit out of themselves, changed relationships forever, possibly lost careers. Drug ODs from a last minute shot of heroin, rape?
