"The most primitive Russian S-200 defensive missile of the Syrians hit the Israeli F-35 stealth fighter, which would seem to indicate that the Russians were testing their anti-stealth radar against the Israeli F-35, and their radar penetrated the F-35 stealth features."

Fuck you America, i hope you burn.

If it wasn't the rebels that shot it down, it would have had to be intentional - the rebels don't have an airforce.

The question is, did Porky do it of his own accord, then NATO was forced to clean up his mess, or was it a NATO project from the start?

I posted briefly a while ago about Ukrainian intelligence sources trying to sell data implicating the government in downing the plane, but I've seen very little of it since. People representing high-level intelligence officers were apparently trying to sell the information to domestic news organisations, but they were asking for an extravagant amount of money in order to secure their futures abroad and the few news groups that don't report directly to the government didn't have anywhere near that much to spend.

but you have to remember that the germans were involved too. or was it ???

whose traffic controller was it that told mh17 to descend right before being hit ???

    and was that normal ???

there is no 'normal' in aviation. the rules change constantly...then there are even rules that they 'forget' to mention. case in point, things called 'NOTAMs' that are supposed to be issued when 'something' is going to affect aircraft in a certain area than isnt 'normally' there...then they oopsie forget to issue these NOTAMs.

an aircraft being told to change altitude and/or course is normal for any one of a billion different reasons.

how frequent does that happen to civilian planes halfway thru their routine flight ???

from what i know civilian planes are like giant calculators and the pilots punch in waypoints and the plane takes care of the rest.

and what are possible reason/s for that if not for another plane that flew exactly on top of it ???

it depends completely on the route, time, and what other aircraft are doing. along with a boatload of other variables...including personality quirks of the voice at the other end of the radio signal.

autopilot, yes. there is no such thing as 100% autopilot...there is always a live body attached to a radio, seat, or console.

i could only guess. the best guess is the controller wanted the aircraft to deconflict with another aircraft.

    exactly my point.

and the most likely plane to be there at that juncture in time and point in space that isnt on any record available to most government would have to be a military one, belonging to your MINIPEA. most likely a p3.

what do yo speculate ??? afterall, you worked for MINIPEA and you know more than me. whats your take ???

Typically military naval vessels will do whatever the fuck they want and others will have to work around them - wouldn't be surprised if it works similarly with aircraft. That said, if I recall correctly the aircraft was directed away from it's expected route, right through the warzone with no explanation given - when pressed the Ukraine air traffic control simply said they didn't think it'd be a problem as the rebels were not known to have any high-altitude SAMs and the government had no reason to be firing on planes at all.

IRAQ - The basic situation is this - the Iraqi military and PMUs are rapidly reclaiming Iraqi infrastructure that was captured by Kurdish rebel groups - contrary to western media's panic, there's been very little blood spilled for a few reasons, mostly:

    1. There's not nearly as much support for secession as media would have you believe. I wrote about this in more detail a few posts back.
    2. Barzani has not been paying the Peshmerga fighters he expects to fight the vastly stronger and better-equipped Iraqi military.
    3. The few militias that are willing to fight are spread far too thin across strategic locations.
    4. The Iraqi Army have demonstrated huge restraint in fighting the separatists; and judging by their typically positive reception in Kurdish towns (see youtube, liveleak etc.), there's little animosity between Iraqis and Kurds.
    5. The Kurds in general (see the SDF/YPG in Syria too) are becoming extremely disillusioned with the US and Israeli forces supporting them - it's become obvious that they're being used in tandem with ISIS to attack the Syrian and Iraqi governments, and given the lack of solid political support, they no longer believe (of those that did, anyway) that a Kurdish state would be protected and enshrined by their 'allies'.

Israel is now petitioning Russia (lol?) for an air corridor from Israel to Iraq (ostensibly through Lebanon and Syria, who have now demonstrated they're willing to protect their airspace and likely capable of penetrating the latest stealth tech). Russia's said they don't recommend it, as Israeli interference in the conflict will complicate it (which is their goal) and because it'll impinge on Russian energy-transit interests. Without Russia calling off Syria's air defences (Putin's a smart guy, he knows that's not going to happen no matter how they ask), it's not going to happen.

UKRAINE - Nobody likes Poroshenko... Not that anyone ever did, but he's now facing demands not only from right-wing nationalist groups like Trident and Right-Sector but also the military.

    google translate will help here

The basic gist of that article is that the Donbass Battalion, the military units that were sent to fight the breakaway states in the East have given Porky an ultimatum - 'you have five days to present yourself to parliament for impeachment and corruption proceedings or we will show you who we are'. They also say something along the lines of 'remember what happened to Ceaușescu', alluding to the Romanian Communist president who was tried and executed for treason during an anti-communist revolution.

US now has nuclear-armed bombers on 24-hour alert - ie. bombers are loaded with activated nuclear weapons and sitting on the runway.

    my badd, memory corruption.

after i posted that i reread everything on wiki and it turned out that mh17 was prevented from going from fl33 to fl34. the ukrainians wont let it happen.

for what reasons ???? we may never know. everytime since that incident when i'm on a plane i always imagine what it really feels like to get shot down midair.

I don't have enough info to speculate. I never paid enough attention to the situation to do any degree of research on it.

should have come to the conclusion that ISIS is a western/Gulf/Turkish/israeli foreign policy tool a long time ago. I remember reading that Ash Carter at some point more or less admitted that ISIS was trained as a Sunni militia in Anbar province and 'got out of control', but I can't find the reference now so I'm not sure how accurate it is.

Among people critical of US foreign policy it's long been assumed that ISIS is to some degree directed and supported by the US, but the claims lacked hard evidence - 'circumstancial' evidence is overwhelming, but there's been little undeniable proof that this was the case. Until Russia released the satellite photos showing US SOF hardware embedded in ISIS strongholds and bases.

    Is that disagreement or disappointment?

IRAQ - The Iraqi military are now pushing the north-west side of Kurdistan, ostensibly to cut supply lines and co-ordination between the Iraqi (Kurdistan) Kurds and the so-called SDF in Syria. This is something I'd expect the US and Israel would try to prevent at all costs, but there seems to be conflict there - over the course of the conflict the US' support for the Kurds, both politically and militarily has been unreliable. Israel, on the other hand, more or less owns Barzani and wants their money's worth - they've been rabid in support of the Kurds, if only to weaken Iraq and Syria. The US is the only one in a position to help them though, as Israel has been denied free air passage to Iraq and Syria has demonstrated that they can no longer conduct overflights and attacks with impunity.

In short, Israel hates Iraq and wants to use the Kurds as a weapon against them, but since they can't weaponise them directly they're going to be putting a lot of pressure on the US to do it for them.

Apparently the Peshmergas have been demoloshing the houses of ethnic Arabic Iraqis in some areas - over 500 houses demolished in Kirkuk in order to force the families out and make the area majority-Kurdish

Very interesting. Syria appears to be working with Lebanon (specifically Hezbullah) to close their skies to Israeli warplanes, turning the entire Lebanon-Syria border into a single front should war break out again. The article quotes what sounds like an Israeli source saying that the alleged F-35 shootdown the other day was actually an attempted attack on a Hezbullah convoy inside Syria, and that the S200 launched at the jet was meant as a warning, to show Israel that such actions will no longer be tolerated.

I'm not sure how much stock I'd put in that though, considering the SAA has sparked off a few S200s in the last year, and a fair few more PANTSIRs and BUK-M2s bringing down something like 8 Israeli drones (confirmed) and damaging 2-3 jets (unconfirmed) forcing them to flee. Counting this as a 'first serious warning' against those previous instances doesn't make much sense to me as not all that much has changed in the interim.

kek, Kurds are using the weapons Germany gave them to fight ISIS against the Iraqi military. MILAN anti-tank guns I believe

***NO I got mixed up, those pictured aren't MILANs, they have been recorded using them though

Has this not always been the case?? How come they put them on the runway wouldnt that be a pain to move them all every time someone wants to take off or land?

Typically nuclear weapons are kept disarmed in silos or bunkers and the bombers parked normally in hangars; I don't know specifics but I'd guess in the case of needing them to be deployed, a plane and nuclear weapon would take an hour or so to get prepared.

This isn't really relevant in a practical sense, but it's an important change in posture - Trump apparently thinks that there may be an imminent situation where nuclear weapons need to be deployed at a moment's notice, and the nuclear forces haven't been put on that level of alert since tense points during the cold war.
