I would definitely recommend getting into exploit development and general low level security research, like stuff focused on firmware and the kernel. It will be very useful for MalDev as well. Think rootkits and bootkits.

If anyone is interested i will make a post ITT thread about some techniques you can employ for exploits and shellcode that argets Windows. More specifically, generating shellcode for an exploit or shell and obfuscating by converting to ANCII and delivering/deploying your payload in that manner. I wrote some Bash to convert shellcode to ANCII and inject it into a template ready for compilation.

    It's pretty neat.

Honestly i wish more people would be interested in low level security, i am part of multiple security oriented communities, but even among skilled security practitioners there don't seem to be that many people really into this kind of stuff. And if they are they're either highly skilled cybermancers that have better things to do than discuss this sort of stuff, or they're not particularly proficient. Not judging either, this is some pretty abstract stuff and i am very much still learning myself. Ah well, no excuse to be bored, personally. I try my best to put in the work to achieve my long term goals.

I'm more interested in Linux/Android exploits. Windows isn't really my thing, even when attacking. I know it's more profitable for both black and white hat, but I just don't want to have to learn about a OS that I don't use.

So I'll be using my rPi for this then.

As far as the cable goes, would I use a regular ethernet cable or a crossover ethernet cable?

I have a Netgear NightHawk router, model R6230. It's my first router ever. My only internet connection is my mobile hotspot.

Is it possible to connect my router to my mobile hotspot so that the router uses the mobile hotspot for an internet connection?

If not, I'll need to set up my rPi so that it connects to my mobile hotspot and shares it with the router via ethernet.

I know of a scheme where you can get more funds refunded onto a prepaid Vanilla Visa gift card than was originally loaded. The card will be locked until you send them a receipt proving the refund is legit.

My friend did this once but never did it again. It was only like $100. So not much. Its also playing with fire as the funds could easily get locked into another account.

I think I made a thread about it once.

I usually use the self checkouts as well. I just like like it that at some stores they have to come over and do an override if I'm buying a gift card. Then I have to interact with someone. I hate that.

Even if one had bought, held through the giant bubble and crash, they could cash out now with a nice profit.

When I working in retail, they put me in the self checkout area. I would go up to people and say, "I can help you down here. There's no line down here." They would follow me to the self checkout area and I'd say while pointing to a self checkout, "That one one there has your name all over it." People would get piss sometimes. I told a manager and he laughed. lol.

Very true. Maybe try writing a small script for your OS.

I've always like the challenge of it. It's like those formulas in algebra that once I got down, I loved solving.

This is the type that I sit in at my call center job...

I don't think it's very comfortable. It can be adjusted back and I can put a little pillow behind my head.

This is the one that I use at home...

I think this one is okay. It can't be adjusted back but I wouldn't need that at home anyways.

I'm currently using Atomic Wallet and Coinomi Wallet for different altcoins, Mycelium Wallet for my main Bitcoin spending, and then Coinbase for more popular cryptos. I can view my private keys in Atomic but haven't figured out how to in Coinomi. I have written down my recovery phrases for both Wallets but I'm not sure if that's all I need to back up the wallets.

For instance, if my phone is lost or destroyed, can I fully restore the wallets on a brand new phone using just the 12 word recovery phrase for Atomic and the 24 work recovery phrase for Coinomi, and have full access to all of my altcoins?

Wouldn't it be better to just save all of my private keys and the addresses for each type of crypto currency?
