Next time they call, write down the name of who you talk to, the time you talk to them, and of course the date. Call back and say you want to cancel because Bob called you at Bob o' clock yesterday and peddled aggressively. Push to cancel until they give you a discount. That's the only way to do it with these people. When I had Comcast my wife would threaten them every 6 months with cancellation so that we could retain our price. When they stopped doing it we left.
did the same thing with the internet provider where i live.
they had a low introductory price then 12 months later it went up 150% on my bill with no other notification. they just expected me to magically pay that amount. i called...told them im not paying that, so they extended the offer for another year. ELEVEN months later...on the 11th month (as in i didnt get 12 months that the rep told me id get)...the bill came for the increased amount which was something like 150% or 200% increase. (i dont remember specifically.)
called again. complained. they changed it to the current special introductory rate which was something like 75% or 100% increase. a year later...they tried to increase it...same way...magically appearing on my bill. they allegedly didnt have an special offers and wouldnt do anything about the new increase so i cancelled it.
fuck them all. theyre all jedi bastards. -

to anyone that read what that idiot posted, dont listen to anything he typed...as usual. the prime cost of a firearm is not the materials that make up the firearm...it is the machining processes that go into forming the metals and plastics that constitute a firearm. while forming the receiver (the receiver is technically, according to the US BATF, the actual firearm and everything else is simply ancillary.) kalashnikovs have two basic types of receivers...'stamped' and 'milled.' a milled receiver starts out as a large block of metal...almost always some sort of steel alloy...that requires some sort of cutting with extremely expensive cutting tools to remove large portions of the metal to produce the proper shape. although the pre-milling block of metal isnt as hard as it will be once it is properly tempered after being milled, it is still a very hard metal and destroys the cutting tools. the expensive cutting tools. additionally, the waste metal removed to produce the final product also has to be considered in the cost.
the cheaper and easier to produce version of a kalashnikov receiver is 'stamped.' this starts out as a flat piece of metal...some sort of steel alloy...that has several round holes and assorted-shaped slots drilled/cut into it for future rivets and attachments...then is placed in a hydraulic press of 20tons-psi (give or take) with the appropriate shaped die and 'stamped' into the proper shape.
the primary nato shoulder weapon...the ar15-family...is always milled, however in the case of the ar15-family the receivers almost always start out as some sort of aluminum alloy which is infinitely easier to mill/work than the kalashnikov steel alloys. there are only a couple of manufacturers that i know of that produced steel receivers and as of a few years ago when i was working on ar15s, they were no longer producing them.
in summary...the cost of a firearm is mostly in its difficulty in manufacturing.
