surely there must be something better that we can use to set wages other than supply and demand. it is within our moral obligation to do so.

Pretty simple. Minimum wage laws were set so that mexicans and niggers couldn't drive down the price of white labour. Actually, I mean idiots. I'm not racist. Idiots are willing to work for less than the value of their labour, and as such drive said value down.

Where I live, minimum wage is now 14$C an hour. Trades fresh out of high school pay 18-20$C an hour. Minimum wage really only applies to teenagers, fast food, walmart, etc. Compared to the states however, that's bad with the current dollar rate.

Norway technically doesn't have a minimum wage. This is so they can pay peanuts to the Polish and Lithuanian strawberry pickers. Expected wage fresh out of high school is 20$US an hour for stuff like gas station clerks.

Does it still, though? Systemic racism is when the system has racist laws. We don't. It's over. The civil rights won a long time ago.

An indigenous person burning his hand on a hot stove is now racist?

Despite the reference to one decade, the Sixties Scoop began in the late 1950s and persisted into the 1980s. It is estimated that a total of 20,000 aboriginal children were taken from their families and fostered or adopted out to primarily white middle-class families as part of the Sixties Scoop.[1][2]

20k. That's all. There were probably a million natives who grew up during that time period. Of them, 20k had abuse, drug addicted, or parents incapable of taking care of their children. Those children were adopted out to white families who could take care of them. Chances are their suffering would've been much worse if allowed to stay with their parents. There's a reason we have child services, and we're generous enough to extend this service to the natives who largely don't even pay tax. Not to mention the numbers are fudged because if you were adopted, you're going to claim "PTSD" so that you may get a compensation!

Doesn't matter if humans have an effect on the climate. Dinosaurs likely had an effect on their climate as well. Oh ya another lifeform that has an affect on the climate - trees!

I import snus. Half the time it comes through duty free. Compared to buying it in the store here, I pay about 1/3 the price.

Trump doesn't need to invade countries. There's other, better ways to hurt countries, or threaten to hurt countries, to make them fall in line.

However we'll see. I'm still hoping for an all out war with China. Those fuckers need to be submitted.

It's like when scientists are doing the dating in antarctica for finding out how much co2 was in the atmosphere. There's carbon dating, and counting seasons. What if there was no snow for a season? Or a million seasons without snow, but it remained frozen? All their dates could be off, not to mention to temperatures.

There's absolutely zero evidence of which direction our climate is going on.

Not to mention, of course all the survivors claim to have PTSD. That's like a Jedi claiming to have lost 11 uncles in the Holocaust. Or a senior center reporting a 97% Corona Death rate. You get a huge fucking payout.

Of course they all got PTSD there. They'd likely have PTSD growing up anywhere.

Not uncommon for ADOPTED children to have higher rates of suicide, drug abuse, etc.
Natives couldn't take care of their children, so the state had to. Thus they faced the same treatment as all children of the state.
You're making the assumption that it was because of their race, nevermind the fact that they were poor savages that needed civilizing. Can you imagine the state of Indian Affairs if not for residential schools? Are you aware of the rates of PTSD where parents neglect their children? Are there any other factors other than "invisible racism" that it can be attributed to?

Same definition as a successful animal species, or that of a successful disease. Spread and conquer.

Googling white inventors makes google ask what white people have done for us, in a big sarcastic headline from BBC, then goes on to show a bunch of images of coloured inventors. As if they're insinuating white inventors are of no more importance? Then there's a few mentions of racism.

I googled white inventors, not black racism. Google's had an agenda for years.

Farm land, silly. There's more land around 60 degree north than there is around equator. It would open up Canada and Russia to become multi billion people countries.

I guess that's it. Marketting. Microsoft is a big marketting scheme. The world would've saved a lot of money by switching entirely to Linux in the early 90's.
  16. Splam African Astronaut
I'm really surprised microsoft has even survived vs. linux. The open style of everything linux is a dream come true for developers of anything.
  17. Splam African Astronaut
Considering the vast amounts of land in Canada and Siberia that'll become farm able... sweet. AFAIK we'd gain more land than we'd loose in terms of farming.

Actually, wait, no that's not racist. That's beer-ist. But yes drug laws have been used to keep the POOR man down, not just blacks and women (who tend to correlate with poorness). Crack is poor man's coke, not black man's coke.

Please, they'd still be living in teepees. Majority of their infants would still be dying of before growing up. We brought them civilization. At the moment many choose to self segregate on their reserves. Many choose to live off the res too. And you can see the difference in the success of those that do. The natives who surround themselves with natives are unsuccessful. It's a problem with their culture, not ours.
