Originally posted by Zanick Yeah, I've kept this username the whole time, but I'm better known for my presence on Zoklet. I think the only contributions I made to Totse were a thread inquiring about the recreational uses of Sudafed and a few ignorant comments about other OTC drugs.
I can tell you been around for a spell.
You know a fuck of a lot more about what's been going down than I do.
I actually wasn't on Zoklet all that much.
On Totse, I had like 5th most posts out of all users (15,000) or something. I was a narcissistic attention whore though and I mostly posted about my sexual exploits in S&A, but also a lot in BLTC, and way earlier on, in Bad Ideas.
But on Zoklet, it was basically whenever I was on heroin for some reason.
So I don't recall Zoklet that well really. I was on it infrequently, and always nodding off. -

I would have mentioned you too if I didn't already know you were here.
There are very few of us who have stuck around all this time, especially with the same user name.
I remember the name Rizzo going way back.
Panthrax I remember, but he's Grimace now here for some reason.
Zanick, now that I think of it... (gonna continue in a new post)... -

Originally posted by Zanick Regarding Admech, I had hoped he'd be my tutor upon my appointment to moderating the religion subforum but he was MIA and never returned. I can't help but worry, and I still haven't shaken that feeling even though it's been years. He seemed like a fantastic guy.
STATUS: Found.
He reallywasIS a fantastic guy. I will find him one day. He got hooked bad on the opiates, around the same time as me. I remember when I was finally getting clean, I got an e-mail message from him out of the blue, but it sounded like he was still stuck in it all.
He better be out there somewhere.
All I know is he lived a small town in STATE REDACTED, studied chemistry as an undergrad, and had a thing for opioids.
Also, and this is ironic as FUCK, for a short while he had a girlfriend in VAN-FUCKING-COUVER (that's where I USUALLY live, for the record)... He ended up coming out to my home town for a while to be with his GF... I happened to be living in Ottawa at the time.
Anyway, FIRST NAME REDACTED (I hope he doesn't mind me using his government name instead of his username), WHERE ARE YOU?
Originally posted by Zanick Robinhoody became committed to the post-Silverfuck project in a uniquely disturbing episode of impersonation that I can only assume emerges through a kind of self-hatred which, when inadequately rationalized, produces a fetish that commands you to play sexual games with a stolen identity of the opposite sex. I don't think this situation was a coincidence for our site, rather, it was a pattern.
So when those rumors arose that robinhoody actually was Silverfuck, it's because he tried to take on her persona?
WTF?
Originally posted by Zanick Gun Lover was a true expert. My hope is that he found a place where his intellect feels at home.
He was a smart fella. I didn't talk to him a whole heck of a lot, but a bit, and he kinda crosses my mind from time to time.
Originally posted by Zanick Silverfuck disappeared, but later on, Enter got to wear her face — or maybe it was Robinhoody, I've never understood exactly who did what. Later she got arrested with Mancannon for several robberies and theft of controlled pharmaceuticals. Forget the woman you saw before, this will be your foremost visual memory of her going forward. Isn't it sad how we preserve people as they are at their worst?
MY LAST INTERACTION WITH HER (on Zoklet) WAS ABOUT OPIATE ADDICTION...
She was addicted around the same time as myself (and AdMech, for that matter).
Our last conversation was about opiate addiction.
By which I mean, with Silverfuck, as well as with AdMech.
Opiates be killin' niggas left, right, and center, WTF!?
Originally posted by Zanick bloodydiaperman blew his mind out in a car, this is easily accessed Totse canon.
Well shit... I am clearly out of the loop then.
Originally posted by Zanick Tacho is presumably still a janitor, given that his political philosophy confesses a dramatic lacking of social mobility.
Lol interesting...
Originally posted by Zanick I don't know about the rest.

2018-12-15 at 10:11 AM UTC in Some O.G. Totseans - Chime up if you know what they up to or if you happen to be them with a new usernameOMG, Rust...
Ok, I know there was a thread made about him recently, and about he apparently got all power hungry over at Zoklet and fucked shit up.
I still have a lot of respect for him though. Does anyone know what he's up to or stay in contact with him?
OH MAN, and...
DerDrache - Also OneMulatto? Or was he TwoMulatto's?
HOLY FUCK, and Zay...
Where is Zay?
SO MANY TOTSEANS I MISS DAMNIT. -
2018-12-15 at 10:08 AM UTC in Some O.G. Totseans - Chime up if you know what they up to or if you happen to be them with a new usernameA few more:
Firekitty - Something about her always just turned me the fuck on. I'll never forget how she used to criticize me in S&A.
yoyobeck - Mod of S&A at one point.
jackketch - A very interesting character, with interesting sexual proclivities... He was also mod of S&A at one time I think. -
2018-12-15 at 10:05 AM UTC in Some O.G. Totseans - Chime up if you know what they up to or if you happen to be them with a new usernameOH MAN, who was that motherfucker that lived on a farm and had a huge crush on some chick from school that he saw on the bus all the time...
Damn, it was like...
I don't know, but a poster her has the username "BunnyMofo", and for whatever reason, that reminds me of this character.
I think he had pet llamas.
And I think his crush was also his neighbour.
Oh, I know SOMEONE here will know who I'm talking about. -

2018-12-15 at 9:59 AM UTC in Some O.G. Totseans - Chime up if you know what they up to or if you happen to be them with a new usernameOh man, the funny thing is, one of the posters that I thought of that actually made me make this thread, I forgot to include...
ArgonPlasma2000 (sp? Can't remember the exact number after ArgonPlasma) - He was kind of a hardcore nerd (much like many Totseans), and had some romantic difficulties, and was one of the few openly religious folks on there - (Christian I'm pretty sure).
Greyfox - Thinking of religion got me thinking of him. That was his username, right? I'm starting to rethink if I got it right. He lived in Alaska, and posted all kinds of weird "spiritual" stuff. Actually, I remember hearing/reading somewhere, on here even I think, that he's passed on. :(
nuclearrabbit - I heard somewhere he had some issues with... well... something particularly controversial.
JoePedo - WTF happened to this dude? Everybody's favorite open/uncloseted pedophile. He was a decent dude though. And he was freaking brilliant too, especially with chemistry. That dude knew his chemistry. He may have had unsavory sexual predilections, but he was still a stand up dude, I don't care what anybody says. -

Originally posted by Lanny Yeah, I've considered doing some kind of structured downloadable archive style thing. It'd be a nice feature but I'd have to set up a cron job or something and I don't think there's probably a ton of interest in something like that. If you want to open a PR for a management command or something to dump archives (only the publicly accessible parts of course) I'd set up a job to drop that into a statics folder once a week or something.
A lot of sites do do that, but usually they make serverside provide the "REST" API and then drop all the rendering on the client. Part of the site design goals were that it should work with javascript disabled, so I can't just hand it off to the client. I'd have to support the API in parallel to the user facing part of it.
I've kinda gone over the ISS repo a bit, just kinda getting to know it a little.
I might actually fork it though and, at first, play around a bit with a local deployment, then who knows where it might go.
I might get some ideas, some maybe even worth a PR.
Originally posted by Lanny Yeah, there's no revenue so all the hosting costs are covered out of pocket. But then the cost of hosting it is pretty low, I think I posted a more detailed breakdown in another thread somewhere in T&T but it's less than $30/mo and I could probably get away with something cheaper. I don't want to do ads, I don't want to have to look at ads and I don't even really think the ads would produce significant income. Asking people for money doesn't seem like it would yield a lot. Ultimately every totse descendant boiled down to the admin covering costs, expecting to turn a profit on this kind of thing is unproductive. I can either pay all of the small hosting costs or pay most of the hosting costs and have to worry about fund raising schemes. It's worth the small amount of money it costs to not have pass the donation pan around this band of cunts.
$30 ain't too bad, I pay about that, plus a bit more, for Digitial Ocean 'droplets' and AWS EC2 instances just for fucking around with.
But I wanted to know in case it was some outlandish cost or something.
You're doing the Lord's work by carrying on the Totse spirit.
Maybe I'll find some way to contribute project-wise after playing around in the code for a bit.
And if financially it ever starts getting out of control or anything, don't be too humble to mention it.
I see people insult you in all kinds of ways, but you keep on truckin'. Aside from the word enhancements, you seem to be a pretty objective, fair, reasonable individual (and even the word enhancements aren't so bad, some even entertaining - I'll never forget the first time I discovered them when I was trying to convince somebody suicidal not to kill themselves... I hadn't even realized I called them a "faggot" in the first few words of my emotional pleas).
So yeah, if for what ever reason we get a sudden spike in traffic and costs start spinning out of control, let us know, or even just let me know privately, and I'll help you out. -
2018-12-15 at 9:32 AM UTC in Some O.G. Totseans - Chime up if you know what they up to or if you happen to be them with a new usernameTwistedFerret / AdMech - I made a thread SPECIFICALLY looking for him already, but I'm mentioning him again here. I miss him most of all.
Robbinhoody - If you don't know who Robbinhoody was, you may be too much of a Yung Blood. You may not even need to continue reading this thread.
Gun Lover - We used to talk to each other about drugs a lot. Never about guns though, despite the name. I think he might been a mod of BLTC at one point.
Gustav/Guswut - This one goes way back, but I am curious as to what this motherfucker done been up to.
Silverfuck - Well, if you've seen her pics, 'nuff said. We came close to meeting in person, too, when I was living in Ottawa (near Toronto or wherever SF was from... she also went by Sophistry too at one point, I think).
CreamOfAndyWarholSoup - This dude did not have a particularly high post count, but he was one of the few Totseans I met in person (when I was living in Ottawa).
deadlycindy - She was mod of Bad Ideas - and back when I actually used to post there all the time (I used to do crimes and shit - long time ago, like 2004/2005 - I don't anymore).
bloodydiaperman - Probably the most (in)famous of all Totseans. I mean, he ran for city council or mayor or some shit, and had some crazy stories and YouTube videos.
Tr1p - FUCKIN TRAINS, MAN!!!!! IT'S A FUCKIN TRAIN!! Also known for his gargantuan nose.
MrMojoRisin - She was mod of S&A, I believe. Kinda hot (from one picture of her boobs in a bra - that's about all I can remember).
Metaphysicist - Everyone knows who he was (mod of BLTC, eventually mod of SG, where he ruled with an iron fist; was in a band; was also crippled in some capacity).
Glitterpunk112358 - Those numbers were the Fibonnaci sequence. This chick was a narcissist but reminded me of myself.
breed - Another poster that wasn't particularly popular on Totse, but I met him in real-life (in Southwestern BC, Canada).
soro_one - Yet another poster that might not have been Totse-famous, but I met him in real life.
Pyrohydrosmok - Mod of BLTC; also fucked a bagel.
Sick_Boy (sp?) - There was more than one Totsean who named themselves after the Trainspotting character, but there was a gal from Alberta with the username. Her geographical proximity makes me think of her that much more frequently.
Some more (don't even know for sure if they were ever on Totse, but might have been on, say Zoklet):
Tachozoma (sp?) - Is it just me, or is his face on one of the NIS banners??
That's all I can think of for now.
I'm sure dozens more will pop into my head later on after I post this.
And for the record, I think it's really cool that Panthrax is still around (i.e. Grimace). I would have probably listed him above if I didn't know that he's still here.
If anyone else thinks of anyone they miss from Totse days, mention them here. -

Seriously, it's like being a kid in a candy store.
As a matter of fact, I got paid today... I might just fund my Coinbase account and do some shopping. -
2018-12-15 at 9:03 AM UTC in My daughter just diedAlso, Lanny (and why I'm choosing this particular thread of all threads to communicate this, who knows - alcohol may be involved)... Just wondering, is hosting NIS any kind of financial burden whatsoever?
A lot of websites beg for donations and all that, but I see no such requests floating around.
Like, do you end up having to pay any money out of your own pocket for hosting? -
2018-12-15 at 9 AM UTC in My daughter just diedThat might not be perfect JSON schema, but you get the idea, I'm sure.

Makes sense.
I used to... actually, still do sometimes... use "Print Thread" to save a copy and archive it somewhere locally if it was either:
A. Nostalgia worthy (hence i have a lot of Totse threads saved, even way back before the "Print Thread" option was available).
B. Educationally worth referencing in the future (I would do this on a lot of different forums, usually topical ones like bluelight and other drug-related forums).
Although, quite frankly, I now see every unfamiliarly formatted website as a Beautiful Soup exercise.
But yeah, really long threads might be taxing on the system.
You should convert it all to a RESTful API that serves up JSON.
(I say it like it's a simple as flipping a lightswitch...).
But that is where most mainstream social media type websites are heading.
I don't know for sure if it cuts down on overhead, but serving everything as JSON seems to work for a lot of places...
It could be like:
badideas_subforum.json:
[
{thread_title: "How to make bombs", content: "Instructions on how to make big explosions follow....", replies: [
{poster: "The Mad Bomber", content: "All you need is like ammonia and bleach...", timestamp: "right_now", thanks: [userpk_1, userpk_2]}],
{thread_title: "How do I steal cars?", content: "I need to know how I can steal a BMW tonight.", replies: [
{poster: "carthief420", content: "That's dumb. Huff raid.", timestamp: "right_now", thanks: [userpk_1, userpk_2]}]

Yeah I lol'd...
Originally posted by Lanny Also I think I should just clarify that distributing cipher text with the key (AND the decryption procedure in this case, no less) isn't really cryptography at all. It's just making you read a little code to get at the plaintext.
Yeah like why was something labeled "pw" (CLEARLY meant to be some kind of, I don't know, password, right there in the same code.
Originally posted by Lanny That's right in the case of XOR. What you described as NOR is actually OR, NOR is just negated OR, so x NOR y is true iff both and and y are 0.
Ok, so there is another variation (XOR, NOR, and regular OR).
I've just gotta hit the books a bit again and get a refresher on my bitwise operations.
I have dabbled in them, but by no means used them with any serious frequency.
Originally posted by Lanny lol, yeah, I got baited into a crypto discussion and forgot the idiotic context it came up in.
Oh man they are the worst kinds of discussions.
Apparently though, to give credit where it's due, apparently some people really did make a fortune on it.
The ones who were lucky enough to invest back in like 2011 or whatever.
