Yeah I'm pretty much in the exact same camp as you here.
Not a lot of people talk about archetypes in day-to-day discussions, and I suppose one reason is that it isn't exactly backed by empirical science or anything, but it's still good reading, as it can broaden one's horizons and inspire different modes of thinking.
He is clearly a very well-educated, well-read man. But of course people are only going to talk about his politics - and vilify him, and his non-political ideas, in the court of public opinion as a result. -
