2024-08-06 at 1:36 AM UTC in I used all my welfare to buy a gaming laptop!!!

I bought a gaming laptop on tax free weekend from NewEgg

Because at the other house I have been using an old computer desktop and that was great and everything then I use my chromebook for doing my shit posting and social media stuff that i don't want people to like read word for word, you know what I mean
Well this new house doesn't have a computer. Even a desktop for streaming games like I was before would be nice, so when I got my welfare check, i decided to spend 900, Not sure why it lists as 1300 now probabaly was a sale or something and then I'mma get my computer.
I wanna learn how to pirate games, i used to use vimm's lair but I think that got shut down. Idk if anyone wants to help me do that, I can reward you in friendshps or nefariouis ideas on things i know how to do…
So yeah I think it comes Thursday!!!!
First game I want to play:
Resident Evil 4
Then:
I don't know!!!

2024-08-05 at 11:54 PM UTC in Vintage Garage Sale ComputersCan a PC boot up without a CMOS battery?
Simple answer is yes, your computer CAN run without a CMOS battery. CMOS battery is essential as it stores BIOS settings and the Real-Time Clock. In most cases, However, the only issue is all your BIOS settings will be reset and the time and date will be inaccurate. You will also be unable to save BIOS settings.
Does it have PCI slots or is the older ISA architecture?
If it's PCI check that all cards and memory sticks are fully seated.
Most parity errors are caused by electrostatic or magnetic-related environmental conditions. The majority of single-event errors in memory chips are caused by background radiation (such as neutrons from cosmic rays), electromagnetic interference (EMI), or electrostatic discharge (ESD). -

The 5150 seems to be haunted.
Sometimes I flip the power on and it does nothing while other times it turns on.
Then it either fucked up trying to post and gives me a "CHECK PARITY 2" error or it does nothing (with a boot disk)
If I take the boot disk out it either does nothing or it posts and brings me to some screen idk what the fuck im doing.
I know how to fix the error though.
Imma start with that.
I know the 5150 came from a grocery store and so did the monitor.
Idk the background on the clone.
CHECK PARITY 2" error = bad memory.
Probably EDO ram -

Originally posted by Bradley ya that wouldn't happen, a baseball bat is effective for the same reason a golfcub isn't, with a golfcub you need to hit them with the end, I personally would like a hammer if a knife or machete was not an option
A baseball bat, just like sword is only effective when you hit with the fast moving part. Some call it the end of the device. Sort of like the head of a golf club. Block with the end you hold and strike and strike with the other. It's a lever...
