2024-08-06 at 3:53 PM UTC in New study links political ignorance and national narcissism to climate change denialWe are technically still in an ice age. The current ice age started just over two and a half million years ago, and it hasn't quite ended yet. Within a single ice age, there are periods of warmth where glaciers melt, which are called interglacial periods. The opposite, when glaciers spread, is called glacial cycles.
Earth is still in an ice age, but we are currently in an interglacial period, which is a warmer phase between glacial periods. The Quaternary Ice Age, which began around 2.5 million years ago, is still ongoing. The most recent glacial period, which is often referred to as the "Ice Age", peaked about 20,000 years ago, when the Earth was likely 10°F (5°C) colder on average than it is today. The current interglacial period began around 11,000 years ago and is characterized by a milder climate and glaciers that have retreated closer to the poles. -

2024-08-06 at 3:43 PM UTC in New study links political ignorance and national narcissism to climate change denialIt blows my mind. They have been banging the global warming/climate change drum for 60+ years. Every 5 years they have moved the goal posts when the prediction of doom fails to manifest. In spite of all this, the current generation buys the shite like it's gospel.
It's the same thing with Trump. Every accusation made, ever charge brought, (even the 34 felonies), the Steele dossier... (the list is exhaustive) have all evaporated one by one like the horseshit and gunsmoke they are constructed from. Yet everytime a new bullshit is born they all jump and shout with glee, "We got em this time".
No matter hiw many times they are lied to they cling to the latest lies like ticks.
